There's something about working from home that has me pining obsessively over new interior pieces all the damn time. Whether it’s from switching on my desk lamp for the hundredth afternoon in a row or simply running out of space yet again on my shelves and having to move invoices upstairs, I’m all about looking at new interior pieces that could improve my everyday life.

Just For Decoration

If there’s one thing that you can count on, it’s that I have enough home decor to decorate at least a small village-full of houses. I’m a huge fan of trinkets and treasures full of sentiment and I’m sure it’ll one day be my downfall. Minimalism? Yes. But I simply cannot get rid of little trinkets to elevate a house to a home. I’m a huge fan of this West Elm Mid-Century Turned Wood Leg Patterned Planter (£149) at the moment: the planter trend is huge right now and I adore the way it lifts decor from the floor and creates space in a room. In a similar vein, the West Elm Small Bud Glass Vase in Opal White (£9) has been on my wishlist for absolutely ages - I can see it perching pretty on my desk with some eucalyptus peeking out of it. Just dreamy.

What is it about hourglasses that seem so old-timey [lolol] and cool? Whilst it isn’t quite Professor Slughorn’s conversation tracking, enchanted hourglass, this IKEA Tillsyn Clear Hourglass (£7.95) looks like the perfect, affordable way to add a little somethin’ to a home. For the more conventional measurement of time, this IKEA Snofsa Clock (£12) will be winging its way to my home office v. soon in a bid to keep track of my time and stop spending hours and hours on emails. Along the same lines of pointless home decor that is cute but possibly pointless: this ROBERTS Revival Mini DAB/FM Digital Radio (£139.99) has been on my Pinterest board for absolutely ages. I rarely listen to the radio but I can envision one in my office to tide me over during the mid-morning slump.

Light Up, Light Up

Something that my office is certainly missing is a floor lamp. Ceiling lights give me a huge headache - something that really affected me when working in-house - and desk lamps don’t quite cut the mustard, but the addition of this Lampcommerce Artemide Fiamma Reading Lamp (£425.70) beside my desk might *just* be the answer to my lighting woes. I am, of course, also a huge fan of hygge-worthy candles and this Novem & Knight Breathe In The Good Shit Candle (£24.99) has been on my radar ever since Sammi shared a video about it on her YouTube channel. The notes are fruity and woody and sound perfect for an early introduction to the autumn!

You Big Softie

Soft furnishings hold a special place in any bloggers’ heart and is the one-way ticket to Hygge. A combination of this H&M Club Weave Cushion Cover (£3.99) and these coordinating H&M Love You Set of Cups (£12.99) make a dreamy late summer evening combination for Netflix sessions and platters of loaded poppadoms (think nachos but with an onion salad on top). Powder pink, emerald green and… a bright yellow Stolen Form Brick Vase (£30) create an ideal living room set-up. Hurry up world and let me move back to Hong Kong!

What have you spotted in the interior realms lately?
