As an avid coffee drinker, I’m more than aware that my teeth are not as pearly white as they could be. My caffeine addiction is out of control. And I hadn’t really felt self-conscious about that until I headed to a wedding fair with my best friend on obligatory maid-of-honour duties. Teeth whitening is a thing, isn’t it? WhiteWash is a brand that I’d heard a few things about and so I was more than excited to be offered a sample kit to try out and share on here.

How does it work?

The kit works in a three-step process: brush your teeth, apply the strips, then perfect. I’ve got to say I’m always a little apprehensive of new toothpastes because I’m so particular with mints (stay with me here), but the White Wash one is fairly inoffensive and I was more than happy to oblige and persevere in the quest for whiter teeth.

The next steps are to floss your teeth and dry them. Pat with a clean towel or cloth and then set yourself up by a mirror. The White Wash kit comes with 28 strips, presumably what is required to visibly change your smile entirely. Each set of strips comes in an individual sachet: simply peel and affix to your teeth. Now here’s where it gets tricky as, of course, not everybody’s teeth are the same size. After a 30-minute session with them on, simply remove, brush your teeth and follow up with the mouthwash.

What did I think?

Daisybrother and I decided to try the strips out together. Each of us awkwardly and nervously affixing the strips to our teeth, it was a pretty hilarious evening. I found the process incredibly simple, although the strips were a little too large for my own gnashers and so I found myself tucking them under and ending up salivating everywhere. Attractive! That being said, I really like the fact that the strips will work well on the majority of consumers.

Upon application, I did expect a little sensitivity and this was indeed the case. The formula on the strips made my teeth feel totally on edge and as if I’d been rubbing ice on them, but I did find this feeling went away after just a few moments. It’s nothing unbearable, that’s for sure. Nothing like *that* feeling you get when the dentist cleans your teeth! Half an hour later, I removed the strips and followed up with a quick brush and mouthwash rinse, and…?

The lowdown

I genuinely saw an improvement! It’s near impossible to capture this in photos with my skills, but I saw a visible whiteness in my teeth. Since our first foray into teeth whitening, I’ve used the kit twice more (Wednesday and Sunday evenings) and it’s totally improved my confidence in TEEF SMILING. I’m so pleasantly surprised by the kit!

The kit is available on their website and I’d absolutely recommend the kit to anybody with an event coming up. I’m saving a few strips for my best friend who’ll be getting married soon(ish) as I’m sure she’d appreciate this! The kit was provided to me for review purposes but all opinions remain honest and words my own.
