Daisybutter - Hong Kong Lifestyle and Fashion Blog: Repulse Bay Beach, beach ootd for hong kong

Striped top, H&M; Denim shorts, Uniqlo; TOPSHOP Fairy sandals; Longchamp Le Pliage.
Weekend wanderings when a beach is involved are my favourite. I'm certainly a water baby through and through, despite my obvious inability to swim! Lately I've been completely gripped with astrology and star signs, so do excuse me as I go through in an even deeper Hippie Mish phase ;) On Sunday I decided to head down to Repulse Bay Beach again; easy to get to, plenty of restaurants, bars and clean showers around, and ridiculously soft sand.

I opted for something simple as ever. Honestly, this heat is almost unbearable! Stripes and denim were my go-to tools to battle the humidity - seriously, kudos if you're a fellow HK-er and you manage to look chic at the beach.

Please also excuse the fact that the wet sand covers over my ankles - how oddly short do I look here?

Currently on the search for an amazing bikini to see me through the summer. I've been dithering over a Triangl one or a simple Topshop number. Send me recommendations?! It was almost like torture to lay on the beach sans bikini and hence being unable to go for a sneaky saltwater dip. Nevertheless, another p e r f e c t way to see off a weekend - sun, sea and sand just 10 minutes from the city. HK, I love ya more every day ♥

PS. Less than 6 months until Christmas!! England, I'm comin' for ya!

  9. Oh this is beautiful but I certainly don't miss the heat and humidity despite the fact I'd fly back in a heartbeat! Haha and we're complaining about it being 26 degrees today (though it's a dry heat really isn't it?). 6 months till UK time? That'll come round so soon!! xx

  10. I miss the beach, it feels so long since I've been to one! Gorgeous photo, you're so lucky to live so close to a beach. Personally I think triangl bikini's are FAR too expensive (despite how gorgeous they look) and I've heard because of the material they are they get a tad sweaty.. If I were you I'd go for a Topshop number, they always seem to tick all the boxes! x

  13. Eeek thanks Winnie! The humidity is unbearable these days but I don't think I'd swap it just yet ;) I think it's due to reach around 36 for us this week - thank gosh for my lil bear fan!

  14. I just adore being by the sea with my toes in the sand! We have hundreds of beaches lining the shores of Hong Kong, feelin' oh so lucky lately. Ah really? Thanks for the tip Ellie! It hadn't even occurred to me. I just see them in mirror snaps and flat lays all the time. Maybe I'll pick up a Topshop one this weekend then! x
