Daisybutter - Hong Kong Fashion and Lifestyle Blog: what i wore

That time of year where I set slightly-ambitious plans for the year ahead...
Hello, happy New Year and welcome to 2015!! How was your New Year’s? Come and tell me in the comments.

I’m starting this year in the only way a blogger knows how: by documenting slightly-ambitious yearly plans for the world wide web to see. I’ve done this for a few years now and I find it quite useful to track my progress publicly, if only for the fact that I can be embarrassed in November for panicking and squeezing things in!

Last year was a success all around, so this year?
  1. Get back into running.
  2. Go on at least one hike per month whilst I’m still in Hong Kong.
  3. Attend 5 concerts.
  4. Send a care package to the Dream Team.
  5. Go on the Ferris wheel at Central.
  6. Squeeze in 3 workouts a week.
  7. Put plans for my secret project into motion.
  8. Visit England.
  9. Visit Seoul, South Korea.
  10. Visit Malaysia.
  11. Read 20 books.
  12. Explore a castle.
  13. Save 60% of each month’s salary (75% if manageable).
  14. Keep up the less-is-more mantra for clothes and belongings.
  15. Sleep more but wake up earlier.
  16. Worry less.
  17. Snip my hair shorter again.
  18. Make more time for myself.
  19. Take more non-blog photographs.
  20. Document my 2015 in a Project Life scrapbook a la Lily.
  21. Kick my public transport/solo travel anxiety. (Might blog about this if anyone wants?)
  22. Volunteer in Hong Kong.
  23. Have a good time.
I’m sure I’ll add to this list throughout the year so you can keep up with my progress right here. What are some of your goals? And more importantly, how do you keep on top of motivation?

Aside from that, I'm really excited to get to grips with 2015. I still pinch myself when I realise how lucky I've been and - cheesy as it sounds - can't wait to see how these next 12 months pan out.

  13. Happy new year, Michelle!
I have to admit, I think posting goals on my blog really motivates me more than anything else - it's as if, having committed to them publically, you're obligated to update your readers on your success (or lack thereof)!
Wishing you lots of luck on completing your goals, lovely xx

  15. Happy New Year lovely! Yes definitely, I like to use it as a reference to guilt-trip myself into doing more. I'm super forgetful (often forget to buy and/or eat dinner) so it really helps me personally to have them written out somewhere! xx

  31. Explore a castle sounds like such a cool goal to have... Oh I wish I could explore one but I don't think I've ever seen a castle... only Cinderella's castle at Disney world haha

You have a very pretty blog btw, I just found it and I love it! Hope you have a happy new year :)

  32. Happy New Year, Michelle, looking forward to following your adventures in 2015 :) Do blog about #21, I'm interested to know more about what you mean! I can never think of specific goals anymore apart from the generic eat healthy and keep my grades up, every year I've started to have a general mantra like "year of trying new things" or "year of taking all opportunities" and I think this year will be the "year of keeping balance"!

    ReplyDelete
  33. Happy New Year to you too Chelsey! I have to guilt-trip myself into completing my annual goals ;) the saving part is for something I'm working on that I really want to achieve, otherwise I know I'd never actually manage it!

  34. Happy New Year Maria <3 I just haven't discovered any good tracks here yet - plus nerves of running in such a busy, built-up area! Best of luck to you!

  38. Happy New Year to you too Jane! I hope you had an amazing trip away. Yes to the year of keeping balance, that's a really good mantra to have!

  41. Happy New Year Michelle! Since moving to Australia, I've had pretty awful anxiety over driving. Back home in the UK I was a pretty confident driver but I've found it so difficult here (even though i've driven to the South of France multiple times which is technically a lot more difficult!). Would be interested in hearing about your experience with it xx

    ReplyDelete
  42. Happy New Year Lizzy! Ah I'm sorry to hear that. Mine is kinda the opposite - I struggled with it really badly in the first half of the year but found little ways to deal with it. I'm going to start working on a post about the anxiety though!

  43. Happy New Year lovely! Such a great post, I would also love to visit Malaysia and another aim of mine is to take more non-blog pictures, it's so nice to take your camera out and take some off duty snaps!
