A mini January explorations photo diary.
‘Find beauty in the little things everyday’ is quickly becoming my mantra of choice.
Weekends have recently been about city explorations until it’s an acceptable time of year to venture further afield.

Sophia and I mostly like heading over to Sheung Wan on Hong Kong Island and meandering up the slopes and stairs in hunt of cool street art, cute coffee houses and other odds and ends. We actually often stumble across people shooting outfit photos as well as pre-wedding photoshoots around these parts! It’s so picturesque in a mishmash sort of way. The old and the new. You can see the infamous mirrored skyscrapers but with scores of antique shops below. I snapped these on my phone earlier in the month and just think the whole concrete jungle aesthetic is super simple and photogenic.

One day, every single place that you’ve been will be completely different to how you remembered it, so pause and take a moment.

  1. Oh I like Central - I really like Tai Hang too which is quite near to where I live. Pretty sure that's where the Hello Kitty Cafe is but it's really quite hipster round there these days with more coffee shops and restaurants. HK is just full of interesting places! My friend always goes to Lamma Island on boat trips when she has days off - it looks so pretty!

  3. ‘Find beauty in the little things everyday’ yes, it's what mattered the most! sometimes we're just too absorbed in life, we begin to forget all those little things. that details truly matters. the neighborhood is not what we used to remember, sometimes. that little corner you used to play at during childhood is now someone's house. that cute little shop where you used to buy popsicle is no longer around. quite sad eh :'(

those photos are fantastic. all those slopes and apartments omg. i think i need to do the same soon. thanks for continuously inspiring, michelle!

  5. "Find beauty in the little things everyday". That's a great mantra to have tbh.

I have always found comfort in the little things, but I find it difficult to appreciate them (that's why I am doing the 100daysofhappy challenge /2015 photo challenge haha)

  9. Definitely!! I think it's easy to get caught up in the everyday mundane but there's beauty even in that. Everything changes a little day by day, perhaps I'm/we're just a little more attuned to teeny things (:
