On being 16 and sharing outfits with best friends.
For some bizarre reason, I found myself on MySpace the other night. Now I'd like to reason out the situation by saying I was looking for a song - I found it FYI - but actually I was also quite taken by morbid curiosity into how I first began to blog. MySpace was the original home of the selfie, the hipster, the self-coined graphic designer, etc. It was also the home of the treacherous Top 8 Friends and PDA's of friendship via matching clothes.

I saved this photo of one of my best friends and I from post-school. Did anyone else's school go through that phase of layering vest tops with white T-shirts? Weird. I think this photo was snapped right when Kayleigh and I grew out of that. We went shopping and job-hunting in the summer, I showed up at her house and boom: a matching outfit. Best friend status confirmed.

Which teen trends did you rock aged 16?

  9. I am currently 16, and I'm still dressing like a six year old. Not sure if that's a trend or just me. Probably just me.

  10. Haha ;) lesson learnt for me to always change my password - apparently I still use the same as I did in 2005! Tech faux pas right there...

  15. Sixteen year old me loved jeans and silly tees. I remember having a yellow tee from David & Goliath with little peas with smiley faces standing on top of the world with the slogan 'peas on earth' and I wore it to death! I didn't even care that yellow definitely wasn't my colour. Ohh the good ol' days. I loved myspace! xo

  17. Jeans and a tongue-in-chic tee was such a teenage staple look! I adored David & Goliath and still do actually. MySpace days were so good, so simple!

  18. Thank you Amelia! Haha it was SUCH a popular look at my school, a white t-shirt with a coloured vest top, those flat mule shoes and flared jeans. What were we thinking?!

  19. Oh jeez I tend to try & block the Myspace years of my sartorial life out of my memory but I vaguely remember blazers, baggy skater jeans and copious amounts and fluorescent accessories being a thing.
Also constant arguments with my mum about her getting me to wear a dress instead of said skater jeans XD Oh how times have changed! Xx

  20. Haha I love it! Rubber neon bracelets (a.k.a. shagbands) were a thing at my school too. I never did skater jeans, just super bootcut/flared jeans and platform shoes!
