Pale yellow silk shirt, c/o Sacoor Bros.; Quilted grey skirt, Miss Selfridge; 60 denier tights, F&F; Cut-out shoes, Topshop; Vintage coat; Celine Trio Mini.

Hands up who isn’t coping with this year’s spring transition weather offering? Coats are still a requirement but it ain’t exactly cold either. Lessons learnt when heading out on a first date at the weekend (!!) included that a coat and silk top are a good combination. This pale yellow and quilted grey combo is about as close to sports luxe as this blog will ever get, FYI.

As far as first dates go, I never know quite how to dress. I think it’s clear to all (on here at least) that my personal style is pretty much established by now - super feminine, classic and polished with a touch of quirk - so I never want to stray too far when meeting someone for the first time. I went with my pretty Celine bag and cut-out boots to round the look off, just about girly and polished enough without feeling overdressed!

  1. I'm not enjoying this transitional period at all. I have been struggling with the "should I / shouldn't I?" decision regarding coats and I never seem to get it right.

  2. I love those cutout boots. I have been looking for a pair similar for a while.

    1. Aw thanks Katy! They're my absolute favourite, slightly too manly for my atypical style but they look good with skirts!

  5. You look so gorgeous! I'm still mega jealous of your bag, and I need to find myself a happy medium when it comes to dressing for the weather, I don't have any kind of spring coat! I hope you had fun on your date, you sure did look lovely!

    1. Awh Deenie! Too nice <3 ah me either, my mint green coat was supposed to be mine, but it has a touch of wool making it pretty heat-inducing. Thanks my lovely, it was a pretty good one actually! x

  7. Not coping either, went out today without my coat as it was nice and sunny and then froze within an hour so we had to go find somewhere indoors *oops*. Love your skirt too, I haven't worn one in forever but feel inspired now :) Hope you're having a lovely weekend x
