1. Stop spending unnecessarily.
Thanks to the fact that last month I bought a Celine handbag, two tortoises, their indoor enclosure, an unsurmountable number of Creme Eggs and an indulgent few food shops, I think April is the month to tone it back down. I'm a typical girl when it comes to the idea of fixing problems with retail therapy, and following a series of ridiculous situations... Well, that just escalated pretty quickly.

2. Declutter.
I'm going to take on the task of spring cleaning my room and the family house this month. My room is a cluttered (yet organised) assemblage of my favourite things, things that really do describe and personify me, but that you could probably do without seeing all the time. It's time to get my decor back to the minimalist cool that it was a few months ago.

3. Roadtrip!
I've been bitten by the travel bug following a February jaunt to Morocco with four of my best blogging ladies. Then I quickly got plans in the diary for Brighton and Southampton, and next on the menu is Paris! My little sister turns 18 in early May so I want to treat her to a soiree in Paris as well as a fun day out somewhere in England. (We've earmarked Cambridge!)

4. Let go.
Alrighty, I don't talk really-personal-life on here very often but perhaps telling myself this as a goal in front of XYZ amount of people is a good call. I need advice for letting go of, or fixing the situation with, an acquaintance turned something-more, turned nothing, turned best friend, to something-even-more, to half a friend when suited. ... Can I pass this off as I'm asking for a friend?!

5. Read more.
Once a self-professed book addict, I now rarely read a magazine let alone a book. As a journalism graduate, I know that I should be reading and taking more in from every avenue, so it's time to switch off the technology a little and spend more time in bed with a book. Well when you put it like that! Tell me your newest book recommendations too.

  2. I'm with you with number #1, I've been terrible at saving the past few months and I need to make sure I have some money saved up for trips later in the year.
Also, if you need any book recommendations, you know where to find me ;) or get a GoodReads account, pre-warning, it's addictive! Xx

  4. HA the last book I read was an eon ago and it wasn't even lengthy or challenging; it was Lang Leav's Love and Misadventure! If you haven't already got it, it's a great poetry book and will probably help (or if you're like me, put you into more despair) re: point no.4 you mentioned!! Tell your friend from me I'd let go rather than fix (sounds like he obv couldn't be bothered when 'something-even-more' fizzled off) and avoid even occasionally checking up on them on social media at all costs, before she sees something she doesn't want to see D:

    1. I'm reading a Cecilia Ahern novel at the moment which is kinda like bulkier chick lit, nice to ease myself back in the reading game! I might have a look into that, although a huge Amazon order arrived for me about a fortnight ago so I've got plenty to sink my teeth into.

Oh god, I could write my own book on #4. I wish I was joking but the situation is even more detailed and ridiculous in real life. I/she never check his social media to be honest, she knows him better than I know myself :P thanks for your helpful words Jade <3

  8. Great goals for the month! I'm trying to focus on decluttering my life as well as just my bedroom - that means eBaying a LOT. But also figuring out what's important which is slightly more tricky. Good luck with your goals! xx

  9. Definitely come to Cambridge, there's so many lovely things to do here and it's only 45 mins on the train from London! I've loved reading 'The Fault In Our Stars' and 'Wool' this month :) Good luck ticking these things off your list - but absolutely don't regret those tortoises!!

  10. I think you've got a good set of goals there! what a lovely thing to take your sister to Paris (I'll be there in May as well, though towards the end!). Decluttering is one of those things that's hard to start, but once you do you'll get into the rhythm of it - I've always been terrible at it, but recently had a big purge on ebay and now I'm a little addicted!

As for letting go - it's not easy, but I do live by the rule that I have to willingly let go of people who don't make the effort or show me in some way that they don't want to let go of me. Easier said than done (definitely have not taken my own advice in the past... back in my "bad boys" phase haha), but at the end of the day, it's the actions that matter and you don't need to waste yourself on anyone! x
