Daisybutter - UK Style and Fashion Blog

It's been over a year since I wrote a post like this, so a quick hello to readers new and old: here are 25 more facts about me! Please don't hate me or run away...

  2. I can count my best friends on one hand and I've known them all for 7+ years.
  3. I can and do subtly sneak Taylor Swift references into everyday conversation. Every day.

  5. I have two pet tortoises named Bertle and Eric.
  6. My sister and I can't get through a conversation without a) breaking into song, or b) quoting from a bank of fave films.
  7. ... I'm really shy and it takes a lot for me to come out of my shell. Blogging is the only thing that has helped me try stepping out of my comfort zone.
  8. I have a really specialised, First Class Honours degree in Writing Fashion and Culture. But I still don't know what I want to do.
  9. A day is not a day well spent until you've had a nap.
  10. I can be quite closed off, selfish and stubborn without realising.
  11. When I was little, my favourite games to play were Knights, Crash Bandicoot, Pokemon and Spyro. These all still apply.
  12. I once played Maplestory from 9:30am to 4am. It's my sole greatest achievement in life.

  14. I really want to travel and see as much of the world as possible, starting this year.
  15. I didn't pass my driving test first time. Or the second time. Or the third... I double dare you to guess how many times it took me!
  16. In the very distant future, my sister and I want to are going to start a little coffee house with an attached boutique. It's going to be the best.
  17. My Granny has bought all of my Chinese wedding gold for me, despite the fact I've never even had a serious boyfriend. #ChineseGirlProblems
  18. I kid you not when I say the dates, times and situations in 95% of Taylor Swift's songs apply to my life.
  19. I can do the Pokemon end theme raps on request.
  20. I used to sleep with my favourite book(s) under my pillow. I only stopped when Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire came out.

  23. I'm a Tsuen Wan girl in Hong Kong and an Ipoh girl in Malaysia.

  25. I firmly believe that you should always help others out and never hold a grudge. My friends say this makes me too nice, but karma will get 'em for you anyway.
Share a fact about yourself in the comments, or let me know if we have any of the above in common. (High five if so!)

    1. Thanks Hayley!

I passed on my 6th attempt and it was going to be my last, and I've not had any problems since passing, it's not that uncommon to take a while to pass - I've met plenty of people who were in the same boat as me.

  4. That's so interesting that you slept with books underneath your pillow! I guess I sometimes did that too when I'd go to bed with a book, but not consciously... I'd just end up tucking it under as I turned over or something...
It was nice to learn more about you!

    Also, love those shoes!

    1. My parents thought I was crazy! I just wanted to literally be as close to the book as possible, and I'd sneak a midnight reading session in after lights out too. Glad you enjoyed the post lovely.

  5. Enjoyed reading this bit about you! I didn't play the Pokemon game but I collected the cards like crazy, as well as figurines and I loved Pokemon Snap on N64 (the cutest!!). My husband and I also talk in movie quotes from time to time but he and his brother talk in movie quotes like nobody's business. Haha!

    1. Thanks Jenmarie ^^ I played the games, collected (and battled with) the cards and watch the TV series... slightly obsessive. Haha I know the feeling, my sister and I are notorious for it, we even sing musical songs now as well!

  6. It's good to get to know you more Michelle and I find myself relating to a lot of yours. I'm pretty shy myself and loathe it, it can really hold you back when you're stepping into careers etc... Also crash, pokemon and spyro are still doing it for me haha along with Zelda!

    1. Thanks Katie! Ah I know the feeling all too well. Working in fashion made me grow a tough skin for the professional side of proceedings but I'm still super shy in real life. Oh what I wouldn't do for a new Spyro game soon!

  10. Love these! I need to do a random facts post, they're pretty interesting! I like the one about being shy - I'm quite reserved/overthink everything so the blog has really pushed me into different situations that I otherwise wouldn't have experienced! Totally get the whole #Chinesegirlproblems thing ha! Random fact about me? I'm the only one out of my sister's who opt to watch Chinese TV - because I find listening to Canto TV oddly therapeutic!

  11. I'm going to go with six times for your driving test :) I passed mine in January, thank god it is over is all I can say. Spyro is an incredible game, I grew up playing games like that with my brother and would still play them now on occasion...I'm 25 this year haha!

    1. And you got it right!! I'm terrible in test environments, I'm so glad I finally passed and I've got through 3 years with no problems now. Spyro is literally the BEST - they need to release a new game soon!

  12. I loved reading these tidbits about you :) I have a thing for quoting films in conversation too (especially when it comes to Disney) but the difference is my siblings usually don't get it or pretend not to know me, haha!

  13. Haha! I love this post. Fact No. 20 gave me a bad case of the giggles as I used to do the same. Although I can't remember when I stopped doing it :( I can totally see why Goblet of Fire would have caused you to rethink your pillow arrangement lol
