Alrighty, time to introduce another new editor at Chez Daisybutter. This year, I wanted to branch out and explore new avenues with my blog but my beauty knowledge just doesn't suffice. I also wanted to be more interactive with this little community, so here's another of my best-loved blogging ladies to take you (and I) through the basics of travel beauty whilst I prepare for my first holiday of the year to Morocco. Be sure to follow her dreamy blog: Adrienne of Late Night Nonsense, take it away (literally)...

Picture this: your flight is booked, your clothes are packed, you've even learnt some phrases to try out on the locals but there's just one thing nagging at you. What makeup to take?

Unfortunately you can't take your entire arsenal with you on the plane, but you still want to achieve a variety of different looks to suit all your carefully prepared ensembles. There in lies the rub, and the perfect opportunity to highlight a few key products to fill your makeup bag without going over your luggage allowance. The best part? Brushes need not apply!

Daisybutter - UK Style and Fashion Blog: beauty, travel makeup essentials, what to pack for holidays

The Base
Probably the most important bit of kit you'll want to take with you is what's going to perfect the canvas for everything else you bring with you. Harder than it looks when you could be flying off to destinations humid, freezing or just downright bizarre! This is the perfect opportunity to crack out a BB Cream and one of the best I've come across is the Dr. Jart+ Regenerating Beauty Balm. You're getting good coverage that brightens and hydrates, while being able to pack in a serum, moisturiser, primer, foundation and sun protection all in one.

For quick correction of blemishes and pigmented areas keep it creamy and long wearing like Seventeen Phwoarr Paint, a real favourite for the under eye area and doubles up as an eyeshadow base. If you like a powder to set everything in place, go for something light and setting to reduce the possibility of caking. I've been reaching for the MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural, which is handy used alone in place of foundation. Want a highlighter too? The Revlon PhotoReady Skinlights range is the ideal travel companion as it can be used all over the face under your foundation or just to illuminate the cheekbones, nose and cupid bows for a sun kissed glow.

The Cheeks
To add the colour back in it's best to choose another versatile product. Those Stila Convertible Colour compacts more than live up to this job. Worked into the cheeks, this creamy formula stands hot and cold climates and can be used on the lips too. A touch of bronzer never hurts if you're catching the rays (or lack of them) and the best I've come across to transform rapidly lightening foundation is the Bourjois Bronzing Primer. Rivaling the rather expensive Chanel Soleil de Tan, but at a fraction of the price, this mousse-textured bronzer melts into the skin effortlessly with no hint of orange glare.

The Eyes
Being savvy with your makeup space means forfeiting size for quality. Luckily it doesn't mean that we have to bypass options as bringing along NARS And God Created the Woman palette may be the best decision you make for your holiday makeup. There are six stunning shades to experiment with, leaving you endless options for nights out over cocktails or lazing by the pool. To define, a couple of coats of Revlon Lash Potion adds volume and length while strengthening the lashes from the root. Nothing better than going away for a relaxing break and coming home with lashes in better condition than when you left! Not forgetting brows, the Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara means you'll have a picture perfect set of brows in just a few stokes of the wand.

The Lips
As we already have one option for lips thanks to our handy little cheek product, another essential would have to be a little gloss to perk up lacklustre lips. The Urban Decay Lip Junkie Lipgloss applied over the top of any lip colour adds a new dimension, but alone can give you a whole other look to your beauty repertoire.
