Charity shop boucle wool coat; Striped jumper, c/o Joules; French Connection printed trousers, Zara glitter tipped ballerina flats, Essie Lacquered Up nails, Rimmel Kate Moss Matte lipstick in Kiss of Life - 111.

When it comes to the old fabled tale of finding gems in charity shops, I’ve never been much of an advocate. I like to peruse briefly, spy something enchanting across the floor, grab and make impulse buys, there’s no denying that with over 1000 posts on here documenting my slight problem. But at the weekend when running errands, I popped into the British Heart Foundation and saw this coat amongst the rails.

Firstly, the BHF holds a very particular place in my heart. My best friend’s heart stopped two years ago, on what is easily one of the worst days of my life, but luckily she was diagnosed and fitted with a pacemaker that keeps her beatin’ strong today. In deference to the amazing work that the British Heart Foundation does and continues to do for people like my best pal, I always make an effort to share my old and unwanted clothing with the charity shop in my town, and am SO happy that I found this for just £5.99!

---

I teamed my new boucle wool coat - and just look at those amazing buttons - with my new Joules sweater. From Joules' new collection, I adore the casual Breton striping and neckline detail. The knit goes perfectly with their outdoorsy aesthetic and is perfect for bracing against the wind that England is throwing at us, as well as being ideal for slipping underneath coats. Practical clothes are your friends, fellow fashion bloggers and enthusiasts. All in all, the coat, glitter tipped shoes and cosy beyond cosy jumper makes for one lovelorn look. Welcome Valentine’s… (Or not.)

  1. Oh that jumper looks so cosy, and the coat is amazing on you! I love picking up bits and pieces from charity shops, but I usually do so for the price and completely forget the 'charity' part. It's really incredible to hear about the British Heart Foundation saving your best friend, makes you feel so grateful for the support of all the charities out there!
