Daisybutter - UK Style and Fashion Blog: the magic notebook, 2014 diary, 2014 stationery, korean stationery, piyo diary

With a new year comes a need for new organisation materials. I’ll put my hands up now and admit that I’m that friend who is always 40 minutes late, who needs a well-intentioned elbow to get things done and who has to step in and out of the house five times before actually being ready.

This year I had a couple of options for 2014 planning. I could join the Frankie Diary crusaders and enjoy beautifully illustrated pages encased in a hardback binding, choose an adorable Toffeenut Diary (as spied on Daisy’s blog!) or go all out and pick up a 5-Year Diary. In the end, I relegated my faithful Filofax to the drawing board and bought the Piyo Diary by Livediary at The Magic Notebook. If you could fall in love with paper, this was it.

The Piyo Diary is an undated 128-page diary, with yearly, monthly and weekly sheets, as well as plenty of notepaper and sticker sheets. Covered with a PVC protective cover, the diary is going to be perfect for noting down events and busy days, as well as keeping lists, planning blog content and more. The little illustrations that pepper the diary are just about right: not too cutesy and just enough to allude to some personality. I’ve even already taken to decorating the pages with the stickers and washi tape!

Questioning the whole undated diary thing? I guess you’ve got good reason to.

I spent around 3 hours dating mine and applying the month stickers - only to fall at the final hurdle and mess up my November numbers. NOOO! Overall, it was much easier to complete than anticipated though, so I wouldn’t let the whole ‘undated’ thing put you off. It also means you can buy in advance for future years or start the diary at any month! (Although the decorated monthly pages could get confusing!) There is oh so much space to pop in events, activities and to plan ahead, and I'm currently using the monthly pages to note down my 'blogging schedule'. Take that, un-organised Michelle!

In related news, my little sister gifted me this adorable Instax Polaroid photo album for Christmas and I'm having the best time slotting our old and new photos in there. The perfect way to keep memories. Can you spy our dysfunctional Christmas family snaps?!
Which is your 2014 diary of preference?
You can shop The Magic Notebook here. (UK based company.) I highly recommend! I bought my diary with my own moneyz.

  1. Omg Michelle you know how to ruin my New Years resolution of saving more as this diary is sooooo gorgeous and pretty and what every girl. Needs. I love the stickers there so cute , the diary is not too over whelming in terms of the colour sect. I am sorry that you messed up November but not to worry but at the same time I know how you feel because I like everything neat and perfect. I am going to have to get me one of theses diaries because I don't have enough already.

Great post and lovely pictures as always

  4. I'm so jealous! This diary is so perfect and I suppose it'd be part of my 'be organised' new years resolution if I was to treat myself to my own ;) That photo album is such a sweet idea, it looks great! Happy organising! x

  5. Okay, now I need this.
I picked up my 2014 weekly planner from TK Maxx a few months back but some of the pages fell out before 2014 even began - massive fail. So tempted to ditch it and upgrade to something both prettier and fully intact! x

  7. So so cute! I really need to get more organised this year. I used to be pretty organised when I was at Uni but since then I've become so disorganised and have lots of tiny pieces of paper with dates and things on them that always get lost and then I have no idea what's going on hehe.
I think I'll need to invest in a lovely diary like this asap! :)

    1. Thank you Ellis! I was the same at Uni, super organised but then letting it go to pot once I had lots of other things to organise. How ironic! Let me know if you end up picking one up! x

    1. Thank you Gillian! I dithered about getting inserts for my Filofax but couldn't resist this instead. It's so cute and really easy to get organised! It isn't quite as flexible as a Filofax but right now, I love it!

  9. I almost bought one of these the other day, there's one with bunnies and it was calling my name. In the end I opted to just refill my paperchase organiser because I always seem to need to buy extra notes pages throughout the year. Maybe I'll treat myself to one of these next year <3

  14. I love stationary and the like that make me think I'm an organized person, the trick is to use them though. I too suffer from late friend syndrome. :[ Best of luck in the new year, day 6 and I'm failing! <3 Carolyn
