DIY Deathly Hallows T-shirt; Zara eyelash lace trim shorts; Zara glitter toecap ballerina flats; Miss Selfridge trench coat; Topshop hat; Mulberry Bayswater Shoulder Bag in Midnight Blue; Essie Lilacism nail lacquer.

One of my style resolutions this year was to wear less black and another was to keep things a little more, shall we say, grown up. Well well well Michelle, what’s happened here?

---

After a day wallowing in a post-party headache, I took Sunday as my day of getting-things-done, and went for a brisk walk in the nearly unbearable January chill. My sister and I drove to the other side of town where cobbled lanes and adorable shop fronts are a plenty, and more importantly where an Illy coffee house is homed. Feeling a little more wholesome than I had all weekend, we snapped these photos much to the amusement of the locals going about their usual activities!

This adorable kitty ears hat was part of my Secret Santa present from Elodie. Whilst I never really wear hats, I must confess that this has hardly left my head since I opened it! It’s by Topshop (of course) and is just so, so cute and warm. It matches up pretty well with any outfit, and yesterday I paired it with my DIY Deathly Hallows tee - tutorial available here - and my new Zara shorts. They look scandalously short in these photos but I love ‘em. A thick tailored short with beautiful eyelash lace trims - perfect.

I solemnly swear that I’ll wear colour today as I dash off to Hogwarts in the snow with one of my best friends later this afternoon. Keep an eye out on Instagram for a sneaky outfit pictorial! Bisous. xo

  2. Oh these shorts! It's ok, everyone knows the new year doesn't officially start until the first Monday of January, so you're technically still ok with your black and white ensemble here! x

  6. I think you look very grown up! The hat is playful which is very you and suits you a real treat, you should give hats a chance a little more. Your zara shoes are pretty sweet also

The notebooks sold out online sadly but try in store, it may get reduced even more! Although I know what you mean about having too many notebooks... I just can't help myself haha
