Daisybutter - UK Style and Fashion Blog

one. Another week down. This year seems to completely slipping through my fingers! I can barely believe it was Christmas nary a month ago. I’ve had a packed week getting to grips with the new job (it was my first full week) and slotting in quality time with friends in the evenings. I even managed to slip off to London one evening for some blog shenanigans.

two. On Wednesday I popped down to London to see the REN Skincare products for the year and get a better feel for the brand. If you’re a regular blog reader, you’ll already be familiar with the cult brand for their exemplary face masks, but this year looks incredible for them. I’ll pop up a quick post about the new products during the week to dip our toes into it all. Afterwards, Sarah, Aisling, Laura (and bump!), Sabrina and I made a beeline to Five Guys for a much needed dose of burger goodness and a good ol’ gossip as bloggers must do from time to time. Just lovely!

three. I’ve finally got round to finishing off more of my bedroom decor. I picked up the Ikea Expedit box shelving a few weekends ago, and it’s finally ready to debut on here. Got a post coming up in the week if you’re interested in how I’m storing and decorating things.

four. It’s Chinese New Year next weekend! I’m planning some CNY related content for the blog as we speak as of course it’ll be a huge part of my week. Can’t wait to be surrounded by my family, eating traditional sweet treats, sharing old and new stories, and collecting up those red envelopes! I might chat about some of our family traditions for the Lunar new year later in the week if anyone’s interested?

five. Finally, it’s a week until the Taylor Swift Red Tour!! I’m heading over on 2nd February with Natasha and Ling and I cannot wait. I’m a huge fan of the Swift and have been to every one of her tours so far, fun fact of the weekend. I’ve also heard rumours that she’s performing my favourite song from the Red album - “All Too Well” - at the Grammy’s tonight, so please do find me sobbing at 2am if the rumours are indeed true.

  1. Looking forward to your CNY posts! I love CNY even though I don't "celebrate" it, in Sydney the whole city is decked out with red lanterns and lion dancers.

    1. Ah I adore CNY, one of my favourite holidays for sure, especially for all of the little traditions that we continue each year. Going to work on a post tonight! x

  3. Omg. Did you Instagram that AS IF knit?! How did I not see it! Where's the beauty from? Once again, thanks to uni, I won't be spending CNY at home (wah) but reading about yours, I'm seriously considering making a quick getaway up the M6 for the weekend D:

    1. Yes!! Gawd Jade, you're a terrible friend ;) alas, I have no idea where it's from... I might have to make my own hahah. Aw man. You should! Although I always had alternative CNY's whilst at Uni, attempting to make the traditional food and failing miserably! x

    1. Ah amazing! I'm getting really into interiors at the moment, and I'm pointing the finger solely at Pinterest. Aw thanks Nicola, I'm seriously so excited!

  5. I've never been to five guys but I've heard it's amazing! I'm a vegetarian so eating at those kinda places can be a bit of a 'mare, but if they do a veggie burger as good as the one at Ed's Diner then I'm in! Actually heading to Reading this weekend - more than likely will be going to Ed's but might try to get the guys to try out five guys!!
I can't believe how quick this year is going so far either! Mad! I hope your new job is going well sweets xx

    1. It was certainly worth the hype, although some say Shake Shack is even better? Gawd, Ed's is a place and a half, I think Five Guys hits the spot for more of a fast food option. Unsure if they have veggie options as well? xx
