Ever Ours black embroidered smock dress; New Look black cut-out ankle boots; Topshop bag modified with foam padding; YesStyle black one-button coat; LHC Jewellery rose gold origami fox necklace.

London, you are one pretty gem.

This weekend I sauntered back to my old playing ground of London to celebrate Sophie’s birthday with an honest-to-goodness Honest Burger dinner date. Catching up with the Dream Team is always the best, and even more so post-Christmas, as we hadn’t all got together for over a month. Insanity right there. Although we were two men down with Aisling and Tanya leading exciting lifestyles!

I ordered this embroidered smock dress by Ever Ours the other night when trying to make my blog ‘work’ again. It’s had a lot of downtime recently, but hopefully you’re reading this and it isn’t a problemo anymore, eh? Anyway -- I digress. Back to the outfit. Historically, smock dresses are awful for me to try and pull off. I’m quite petite (I’m around 5”1 and a standard UK size 8, fun fact of the day!) and smocks have always drowned me, but this one is p-e-r-f-e-c-t. Not too fitted and not too wide at the waist - hence why I wore it for burger-scoffing, the sleeves are SO nice and the length hits around mid-low thigh which is my ideal length. Lovely!

With it I paired all black errthang, as has been 2014 tradition so far… I also debuted my camera bag to the girls on Saturday: everyone was very impressed by my brother’s thoughtfulness and handyman skills! Hands up if you think he should make camera bags for all the bloggers in the land!

Hope you all have a lovely week anyways, I did a more chatty post yesterday so be sure to read and get up to date on my non-life, if that’s what tickles your pickle on Monday mornings. Yawn. To work I go! More on ‘those’ burgers tomorrow! xo

  1. You look beaut, Michelle! Such a lovely dress. I've had my eye on a few of the smocks on ever ours. I have a similar issue to you (5ft2, size 10) so always worry I'll be drowned haha, but you've proven me wrong :) xx

    1. Awh thank you Sophie, so kind of you! I was a bit wary as the Topshop and ASOS ones simply drown me (hence why none have ever made it on the blog!) but I can always rely on Ever Ours for a good fit. Would def recommend, lovely!

    1. Thank you Leanne, my love! I've never found one to fit me properly before, hence the severe lack of them on my blog (: but I'd absolutely recommend this one, especially as you're around the same height as me, non?

  8. Oh smock dresses, I think it takes a lot to find the right one, but this is so perfect on you! I have one from asos and although it's not the most flattering it's comfy and I'm pretty tall so I think it balances out...kinda!
