"I solemnly swear I'm up to no good..."

For the fourth time in roughly 18 months, one of my best friends Sharon and I packed up our trunks and owls into the back of my non-flying car and went on a Monday adventure to Leavesden, home to the Harry Potter Warner Bros. Studio Tour. I’ve saved some photos under the cut, if you’ve not been before.

As ever, the studio is the perfect choice for escapism and, although we’d both been before, we both thoroughly enjoyed pretending to enjoy a Christmas lunch in the Great Hall, sip hot chocolates with Neville in the Gryffindor common room, peruse the Marauder’s Map and discover the room of Lost Dreams for the first time - how apt! - and really drink a Butterbeer. Gawd those things are good (and cold).

I think it’s safe to say that even 12 years on since I first dipped into the murky yet magical world of Harry Potter, my hopes are still pinned firmly on receiving ‘that’ owl and ‘that’ letter. C’mon Michelle, your hermit days shall pay off.

“Mischief Managed.”

  1. Ohhhh how I want to go to the Harry Potter Studio Tour! I may have to wait until my birthday in November when it's all Christmassy again, because I won't have time to get there before it all goes back to normal again. Your photos are great, and you look like you had a magical day! x

    1. It's absolutely amazing, especially with their Christmas decor and the snowfall! Would definitely recommend it, but make sure to book really far in advance (:

  2. I managed to visit when I was in London, it was awesome! I really enjoyed the butterbeer actually, even though it was cold... and the souvenir store had me practically drooling, haha.

  4. Awww you're making me wanna go back again! I've debating whether to get a ticket to see the Hogwarts in the snow stuff for ages, maybe they should just keep the Christmas decorations up in the Great Hall up all year?
And four times? I thought I was excessive with my two trips ;) xoxo

  6. Oh I want to go back. Most people aren't fans of the butter beer but I think I was indifferent - I didn't think it was particularly yummy but it was like Cream soda (totally a Chinese fave soft drink right?!) with like a marshmallow froth. Weirdly interesting! Looking forward to catching up with you next month! Yay!

    1. I really liked the Butterbeer, although I wish there was a hot version too. It definitely reminds me of cream soda actually, that's what I've been trying to pinpoint it too! Can't wait to see you next month dear! (:

  7. Michelle, thank goodness for your detailed eye. Looking at these photos makes me feel like I'm there. I've only been able to go to the Wizarding World in Orlando, FL. I desperately hope I'm able to visit the studio tour in England some day soon. Christmas at Hogwarts looks lovely!!
You'd think at the studio tour they would have crafted a warm version of Butterbeer. At the park in FL I understand why they only offer it cold...
