45SEVEN Contrast Trim Single Button Coat, YesStyle.co.uk; Oversized navy jumper, YesStyle.co.uk; Grey quilted skater skirt, Miss Selfridge; Cut-out heels, New Look; Mulberry Bayswater Shoulder in Midnight Blue.

Here’s a snippet of what happens when it’s too cold to take a proper set of outfit photos - little Instax memos from our wander at the weekend. The shopping districts in every town are suitably filled with festive finds, borderline tacky decorations and shoppers-on-missions, so why not stand outside John Lewis and take selcas with the Bear and Hare?

Recently I’m really into a darker aesthetic. Sartorial choices as of late consist of my YesStyle coat that I’m still obsessively styling with every outfit, a cut-out shoe or boot or heel and textured layers. Probably half for the added fashion bingo points, but actually more than half for ensuring that I don’t lose a limb or extremity to the bitter English weather. It’s a charmer. My new quilted grey skirt is pretty my NBF atm. New Best Friend, at the moment. I picked it up in our Christmas sample sale and it is just lover-ly. I adore skater style skirts and the quilting just gives it a bit more. Capsule wardrobe essential, did one say?

I also thought I’d give my sister another moment on the blog. When I bought my coat the other week, I also picked one up for her! Here she wears the Envy Look Herringbone Double Breasted Jacket. So gorgeous. It’s got that coveted slouchy shape that we all Pin and obsess over on Pinterest, and Louise wears it with her - wait, my!! - YesWalker satchel bag, white Converse and an Urban Outfitters dress. (:

So this week marks my last “full” working week at Arcadia! Although I do realise that as I type, I’m sat at home in my pyjamas, wishing my hospital appointment away. Nevertheless, I’m finally nearing the last few days at work. I haven’t spoken too much about my freelancing life here, but perhaps that’s a story for a later date? I’m moving to horizons new next month. Bring it on. x

  1. Instax memories are so wonderful. It sounds like an exciting time for you at the moment, minus the hospital appointment - I hope all is okay <3

    1. Aw Adrienne, thank you lovely! Sometimes it's nicer not to lug a DSLR and bark orders at my sister ;) this method gets the job done in a millisecond of the time it usually takes! I'll definitely consider getting something written up - within reason! (:

  3. I have a little instax camera, but I'm too scared to whip it out. I used all ten in one go once.. *addicted to instax*.
