Grey cashmere sweater, Miss Selfridge (from about 6 years ago…); Tailored 501™ jeans, c/o Levi’s; White Converse; Gold hammered collar necklace, H&M; Mulberry Alexa in Petticoat White; Nails, Essie Bobbing for Baubles.

Hello hello from the depths of a British windstorm! Yes, in true England style, everyone is cooped up indoors away from 100mph winds (apparently). Just before the storm hit and trains everywhere were cancelled, I spent another Sunday afternoon sipping autumn Costa coffees and splurging on new Essie polishes.

Last week when sifting through my knitwear selection ready to brace the new blues - again, if you’re an international reader, this is seriously a ‘thing’ - I discovered this grey cashmere sweater that has been in my wardrobe for years. Like really. It got me thinking about how you rarely find higher quality textures and blends on the high street unless they’re specifically marketed that way. This cashmere number worn with a winter coat did a perfect job of keeping me cosy.

I’ve finally begun to dabble in the world of boyfriend fit jeans. These were sent to me for consideration in a Levi’s campaign that I did for Glam a few weeks ago, but I’ve only just got round to wearing them. The fit is absolutely spot on and I adore the tarnished wash. I did have to roll up the hems but that ultimately comes down to being on the shorter side of proceedings. I’d absolutely recommend Levi’s for their soft fabrics and on point fits, by the way, jeans shopping is way up there on the stressful shops chart!

---

I’m now putting myself on a no new clothes and silly spending challenge. I’ve definitely reached the wrong side of poor now, and a) I can’t handle my questionable sandwich making anymore, and b) Christmas is a’coming! After snapping up Essie’s ‘Favourites to Fall For’ duo (it features Chinchilly and Bahama Mama), I’m ready to eBay my clothes, belongings and life, and welcome a trickle of lunch money to my life. Oh the exciting life of Michelle… x

  4. I am still undecided on boyfriend jeans, but they look so great on people I don't know why I haven't given in yet!!
And I'm with you for the no spending challenge. I've been spending and not looking at my bank account so when payday comes on Wednesday I'm taking a good hard look at my expenses and setting myself "just how little I can spend everyday" challenge. We can suffer together! (must look away from all coffee places)

    1. I finally caved and now wonder why I hadn't done so before, so comfy and nails that casual chic look. Haha my problem is that I don't have regular paydays so budgeting and planning ahead is really difficult! x

  5. I love this outfit so, so much - simple and perfect. I'm so badly want to yet I'm too scared to try out boyfriend jeans, how pathetic! I'm forever worried that I'll turn a perfectly good pair into a frumpy, zipper-camel-toed mess. But this post is like a giant poke at my purse. Will look on the high street and see what it conjures up :o

    1. Thank you Jade, I'm all about simplicity at the moment. Grey cashmere and a boyfriend jean is pretty much my foolproof weekend formula at the moment. Do it gurl, so darn worth it and I bet Zara have a good pair! x

  6. I love this outfit Michelle, you look so chill and chic! I've recently fallen in love with faded boyfriend jeans rolled up, so this is perfect. Hope you guys made it through the storm!

    1. Thanks Jane! Nothing beats a super laidback look when it's too cold to motivate yourself to wear stylish~* clothes ;) I'm stuck indoors at home today due an entire network of trains being down, but other than that, St. Jude's hasn't beaten us yet! x
