Autumnal hair change and products I use (nearly) everyday.

Back in May, I got my hair cut off to a midi length following the footsteps of Anna. I've been half-promising a post about that haircut for ages, but I'm one of those girls who schedule in haircuts and blow-dries to coincide with events or days out to make the most of the situation. Which of course means less time for photographing the new 'do and blogging about it. I got my locks lopped off again on Saturday to get those summer sunkisses pared down and improve the condition before the British elements get a grip of them (tomorrow.)

Thankfully I've long outgrown that awkward phase of refusing to get my hair trimmed (usually ends in super frizzy ends and being scolded by the hairdresser) and have also stopped taking photos of IU and Sooyoung to the salon with me in the hopes of transforming into one of my idols. These days I traipse in, accept the perfect cup of tea, settle down with a magazine and have my own style going on. I refer to my cut as a medium short length, with long layers and plenty of volume. I'm not a fan of thinner ends and with fairly thick hair naturally, just need some subtle layers to keep things bouncy.

---

Haircare wise, I've only recently become one of those styling product gals, but my haircare line-up generally consists of Bumble and bumble's Sunday Shampoo and the TIGI Deep Restoration Conditioner. I'm hoping to invest in a Bumble and bumble conditioner come payday, so beauty enthusiasts, send me your recommendations and reviews! I keep the washing part fairly understated or my hair tends to feel limp and lifeless.

Moving on to styling my hair. I'm obsessed with my Lucido-L Hair Make Supplement Styling Milk for Curl. If I curl my hair (a rarity nowadays!) this helps the curl last all day. My hair is naturally a Normal texture and naturally straight with thick heavy strands, so this is perfect. To add texture, this Kiehl's number is perfect in small amounts to undo the hair. I then add a drop of oil or Neal & Wolf's Glow Super Shine Spray for some gloss and finish with Elnett Hairspray. Simple, fuss-free hair.

  1. I am guilty of avoiding a trim! - I havent had mine cut since January! I need to book myself in sharpish! I dont know whether to have a lot chopped off to get it in good condition or just stick to my usual "take the smallest amount possible off please!" Thinking of having a colour change too.. maybe some caramel highlights....

    1. This year I've really got back into hair salon visits! A nice cuppa, chats with the salon girls and swishy hair... ;) I'm glad I took the plunge and got it all lopped off back in May, my hair is so much more manageable these days. x

    1. You do indeed! I find a drop or two through the ends of my hair does wonders for taming these tresses! x

  3. For the longest time I refused to cut my hair regularly, I think we've all been there! A few months back, on a bit of a whim, I grabbed some scissors and gave myself a new do. I'm all about the shoulder length hair right now, my ends look so much fuller and I love it.

Your hair is absolutely beautiful, I love how shiny and bouncy it always looks! The Neal & Wolf Shine spray is lovely, one of my favourite hair products for sure!

    1. I adore your hair though Jennie! It's amazing what a simple trim can do, right? I absolutely LOVE the feeling of freshly cut hair. Thanks Jennie, I'm certainly going to look into collecting the rest of the range when I come into some extra pennies. (:

    1. Aw thank you Carly! I think~* I'm going to work on a health and diet blog post in regards to my hair and skin regime, diet and lifestyle play such a large part to how lucky I've been with my skin and hair! x

  5. That is truly one head of healthy hair. I'm very weird about my hair as it's like my safety blanket. I think I'd rather people touch my first born than mess around with my hair and start cutting it off! Unfortunately for me that means it'll never look as healthy as yours! I'll have to hunt down those Lucido-L products. The bottle looks really satisfying to hold...

    1. Haha such an amazing likeness there ;) I've never been too protective or fussed with my hair to be honest. It's just... there? I tend to style mine as an after-thought. Would highly recommend the Lucido-L products - they're everywhere in HK. I want to try their relaxed wave series next.

  7. Your hair looks lovely! I'm growing my hair at the moment and i've noticed it's become even more difficult to keep it looking shiny, particularly with the british weather this time of year. I'll have to try out some of these products :)

    1. Thank you Charlotte! I'd really recommend the L'Oreal oil for this time of year, keeps it soft and much more manageable, long hair and scarves is usually bad news, right? x

  10. I think your hair looks so healthy and nice! I find having a cut really does help as it gets rid of all the ragged ends, giving life and bounce back to your hair.
