Navy blue jumper, Yesstyle; Light wash Chambray shirt, c/o Levi's; Black pleather shorts, Miss Selfridge; Boots, c/o Seven Boot Lane.

Trust me to be feigning a love affair with the blues crowd when the colour of the fairer sex is supposed to be at the forefront of everybody's style games. Approximately 75% of the year, you'll find me dabbling in flounces, frills, lace, pink, creams and more, for want of a more girlish charm in my sartorial choices… the 25% that currently requires that pink palette? Oh no, let me just retrace my steps(!)

I'm feeling blue at the moment. Not so much in the emotions~* sense, but I'm embracing navies for the autumn and this time thought it apt to team it with a light wash Chambray shirt and some pleather for the taking. The shirt is a Levi's number and is so perfectly soft: before this, I'd never even considered wearing a denim shirt. It'd been a bit overdone in my little hometown, which is more than reason enough to give up on the look. But then this rose gold popper button one weaselled its' way in and it looks so lovely paired with black. I've previously worn it with my corduroy trousers and wore it to work yesterday with my textured skater skirt, but here with the pleather looks kinda edgy. For me, anyway.

I also need to talk about these boots! Seven Boot Lane sent me these suede leather ankle boots a few weeks ago and I've been dying to give them a test run. With the ridiculously cold weather recently, I cracked them out over the weekend with a very careful step and can confirm they'll be p e r f e c t for the rest of my autumnal wear.

Today is October 16th, 2013, marking a monumental four years with Beast, one of my favourite K-pop groups! Scarily it also marks four years since I was cooped up in my first ever Uni halls with a severe bout of Freshers Flu (read: 2 weeks of a hangover, essentially) watching their debut and worrying my flatmates that I'd died/escaped/got lost. It seems so, so odd to think that my Uni years even happened: my first year flatmates and I have been reminiscing about all of the hilarity and overall oddness of first year recently. Savour those moments, Uni types! x

    1. Thanks Laura! Took SO much more effort that I'd originally anticipated to roll the sleeves up over the jumper haha.

  8. Absolutely love this outfit Michelle! The shorts could look a bit too cluby but the tights and navy jumper tones them down perfectly.

    1. Thanks darling! Ah that's exactly what I thought - leather isn't very 'me' on the whole but of course I found a way to incorporate them to my wardrobe without straying too far from the beaten track! x
