Daisybutter - UK Style and Fashion Blog: photo diary, london fashion week ss14, lfw

Now that the cobbles have quietened, normal Twitter and Instagram service has resumed and you're probably even going to be able to catch a taxi in London, photo diary alarm bells rang in my head and it was probably about time I shared my sixth LFW season with you again in an 'everything but the shows' manner. Disclaimer: I spend the other 97.5% of my life falling up and down stairs, playing Animal Crossing and stalking you all via your blogs. Don't be jealous. ;)

Byron: the ultimate blogger refuel bar.

Nothing beats a good ol' fashioned, guaranteed-good-burger during a busy few days than Byron, eh? Conveniently situated around 5 minutes away from Somerset House, Elodie, Sarah and I stopped off for a refuel on Friday with some chicken burgers, courgette fries and full fat Coke. Gasp.

A snippet of an outfit posted yesterday; my shoes whilst waiting for somebody, anybody to rescue me - Kavita eventually took me under her stylish wing; my Eudon Choi invite.

Couple of Insta shots if you don't mind?

They're tiled differently so it's acceptable, right? The first snap is an oh so artistic shot by Aisling of what I wore on Saturday - a full post went up yesterday, don't you worry your pretty little minds. Friday saw a lot of hanging around and waiting, and raining, hence a shoe shot so I looked like I was supposed to be somewhere. The ever gorgeous Kavita eventually found me and took me under her wing, and we had a lovely catch up!

BFC show space vs. Waldorf Hilton vs. Fashion Scout.

If you're not a LFW-er, you'll have only heard about the 'nightmare' of venues. But seriously, even I 'get' the complaints from the Fash Pack, locations dotted across London in a bid to distance from the carnival and circus at Somerset House (or not this season) mean that there are plenty of beautiful places to see that I'd never usually get a look-in at.

Cat ears; a shoe circle in the Ashish SS14 queue with Sarah, Aisling, Elodie and Kristabel; a very gratuitous lift selca on the way up to the Glam Suite.

This season, we Glam editor girls were lucky enough to have our own LFW suite at One Aldwych. A relaxing safe haven and shelter from the pouring London rain, we were treated to manicures, massages, blow dries, coffees and refreshments, and more, and it's always a pleasure to chat to the team too. Then it was back to Somerset House for another huge queue (well worth it) and lots of blogger type chat.

Orla Kiely SS14.

My third Orla Kiely presentation experience was quite… something. Whilst slightly traumatised by the sheer swarms of people up in the Lester Gallery, the collection itself was perfectly enchanting. Think Moonrise Kingdom, a sprinkling of real life Animal Crossing and the sweetest safari props.

Spotted: Susie Bubble working it between shows; another very glamorous queue for Holly Fulton; House of Holland nails at the newly curated BFC SHOP; Ashish SS14.

Having read her blog for absolutely years, it always excites me when I spot Susanna Lau aka Susie Bubble in real life. Three years ago during my second season at LFW, she asked me if I was also waiting for a taxi - it was awesome. (Say it like they do in Mean Girls!) I thought I'd include some more candid snaps from around the tent, including a stylish queue. They just don't make 'em like this in Tesco...

My girl - ELLE YEAHHHH.

Alrighty - cue soppy moment of the post. Blogging means that I've made so many friends over the years. Like srsly, who else are ya gonna Snapchat with your new lipsticks in 5 different shades? Elodie has been a saviour this week, assisting with my meltdowns, throwing in a sneaky French phrase once in a while and generally being a babe of all orders. Give Elle Yeah a visit and a follow! ;)

Refuel.

What would a photo diary at Daisybutter be without some food photographs, eh? Coffee with the Glam team, honeycomb sundae with the Dream Team. A season well done.

  4. I've never had the courgette fries in Byron :o heard good things though. Might be adventurous and get them next time. That zebra printed Orla Kiely top has really caught my eye; I can only hope somewhere on the high street (Zara heh) produces something more affordable. LFW through your eyes/lens looks like such a fun experience, even with the rain!
