This week has been the longest week ever so far. You know when nothing seems to go right, commutes seem to take even longer and you feel like you're taking one step forward and two steps back? That.

DIY T-shirt, originally by Topshop; Monochrome pearl trim skirt, Dahlia, Black 'Aggie' boots, ASOS; Diamond textured blazer jacket, River Island; Coral skinny belt, c/o F&F at Tesco; Mulberry Bayswater Shoulder in Midnight Blue.

I cobbled this ensemble together for work yesterday - see my sneaky Arcadia lift selca here! - and really liked it. A good outfit is (usually) conducive to a good day in my books but alas, nothing seemed to work for me, it was too hot and then too cold, I was worried about a whole menagerie of things. All the non-problem problems! I think I just need a little break to refresh and reinspire myself but it's far too busy in the world of fashunnn!

Last year I DIY'ed this roll-up sleeve T-shirt from Topshop to turn it into my Deathly Hallows top. Just in case no-one realised I'm a bit of a Harry P fan! In fact, at work, no-one realised until I turned around and casually had a 'Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home,' quote by Ms Rowling herself emblazoned by my shoulderblades... Oh the wonders of T-shirt transfers. I paired it pretty simply with my Dahlia skirt (part of this co-ords set) and nipped it in with a coral belt from F&F at Tesco. Of course I had to cosy on up with my River Island blazer too!

I'm currently borrowing a swish 50mm f1.8 lens from an old work colleague to experiment with. I've been meaning to upgrade my camera equipment and blogging tools for ages but just had no idea how to go about it! We're testing out a couple of lens and then I'm going to take the plunge! I really like how this set of photos turned out though, such precision and clarity.

Anyway, back to work and the daily countdown until hometime. Tonight we're going out for some leaving drinks (just, you know, to erase all the Pilates and cardio workouts I've been doing for a fortnight!) and I'll be reunited with my girl Cat. Then I'm mostly excited to watch Pokemon - of the season one variety, of course - and Haruhi alternately until bedtime. Bring it on… x
