Red daisy print smock dress, Ever Ours; Sandals, Zara.

The weekend was so lovely and sunny, if not just a little too far on the sweat-inducing scale, that I had to whip out my newest summer smock dress and throw caution to the (non) wind re: horrific bruises on my knees being out in public.

I'm a huge fan of oversized fits and pieces that look effortlessly chic whilst being super comfy. No-one wants to feel even more uncomfortable in the 27°C heat now, right? With that in mind, I accessorised my beautiful beyond beautiful daisy print number by my favourite Ever Ours with simple tan sandals from Zara, and a Sainsbury's bag of bread to feed the ducks. The dress is one of the best impulse buys I've done in a while and I can also confirm that the sandals are simply the comfiest and easiest to wear summer numbers ever - go and buy a pair!

Recently I've noted that I've become super complacent about even the smallest of things. Gosh, twenty two years in my hometown sends me a little stir-crazy at the best of times, but I realised just how lucky I am to have such beautiful surroundings in the form of the faux lake in the centre of the town. Teenage mamas, delightful youngsters who shout atrocities in your face and the Pigeon Lady* aside, it was truly breathtaking to take a late afternoon stroll around these parts and discover another new nook.

Blogosphere wise, the transition over to Bloglovin has greatly enhanced my commute. I switched all of the blogs I read over there and now I read and comment via their Android app whilst on the train! If you haven't already, give little Daisy a follow right here! I'm also currently working with a talented web designer to give the blog a little facelift: as my content and style has developed this year, I feel that little Daisy has outgrown her current surroundings! Watch this space for a little refresh… Along the same lines, what are your thoughts on potentially switching back to Disqus for commenting? Yay, nay?
* The Pigeon Lady is simply a relatively harmless lady in my humble hometown who has stormed the streets and town centre, chatting to every pigeon in sight.

    1. Ah thanks for sharing Char! I used to use it and found it much easier for replying to comments, but it seems the general consensus is that Blogger's default is best! x

  4. That is a super cute dress! Hope you're getting time to enjoy the sunshine. I generally prefer blogger commenting because my broswer has trouble with loading disqus on some occasions.

  11. Will never tire of the Taylor titles ^^ This post is just so summery and it's a reminder that I've still yet to find the perfect summer dress. Saw The One in Zara the other week but obviously didn't have my size (Sod's Law)! Looking forward to your blog redesign and I personally prefer Blogger comments to Disqus!

  12. Your dress is adorable and so are you! I love how 27 degrees is considered "too hot to handle" in England but where I live today was about 35ish and that was normal. How I miss the uk <3 Hope you have a lovely day xx

    1. Thank you Nicolina! Ah, it is positively boiling here compared to our usual wear-coats-through-the-summer weather. I much prefer the heat when I'm abroad: my parents are from Malaysia and Hong Kong where 37degree + weather is pretty commonplace this time of year! x

  14. The dress is really pretty! I've been loving daisy print recently too :D
I get similar problems with people in my London suburb, but instead of a Pigeon lady we have crazy bag lady who carries around a giant bin bag filled with stuff and shouts at people a lot haha. Your surroundings are much nicer than mine though!

  16. Sounds like you had a great time! I haven't fed the ducks at my local lake since I was a toddler, so now I'm feeling all nostalgic about it.

By the way I've considered switching to Disqus as well, but I'm worried that my usual followers won't be able to comment if they haven't made an account. I haven't had any problems with it on other blogs, though!

  17. You know you're from the nidge when you know what the pigeon lady is. Oh my humble beginnings HA! You should definitely come out the US and visit Vegas/Phoenix or LA. It's lovely out here and you could totally stay in our condo if you wished to.
