Hold the phone, for there is a maxi dress on the loose in Daisybutter kingdom. Yup, it happened. 27°C weather, a staff sample sale and £3 later, my second ever maxi dress became mine. Aaand I even have my hair up. It's all happening over here lately...!

Black bandeau midi/maxi dress, Miss Selfridge; Tribal print sun top, Topshop via ShopStyle; Denim jacket, River Island; Tan sandals, Zara.

Let's get down to the basics, a bandeau jersey number that perfectly skims and contours the figure when there isn't a prolific breeze - perfect. I'll let you in on a secret though, wander over to Miss Selfridge and you'll notice that this dress is, erm, actually a midi number. And I've lopped 4" off the hem too. Fun piece of trivia about my height for you there!

Today I styled it with my tribal print sun top to make it more daytime friendly, adding a seriously old denim jacket on top to channel the whole 90's thing that we've got going on this season. Does the 'trend' thing extend to music? Maybe it'll make my iTunes library a little more cool. No? Finally, I also get to debut my pretty new Zara sandals! These have had quite their moment on my Instagram feed, but I've literally been too busy or hayfever'd up to shoot them properly thus far. Just under £30, super comfy and just the right tan hue. Not too orange and not too brown, good stuff.

Ooh, before I forget to beg you all: don't forget that Google Reader has passed its Apparition Licence Test and Disapparated on us all today. Whilst I'll still keep my GFC widget in the sidebar, this does mean that Bloglovin' will be the next best way to keep following little Daisybutter. 12. £3?! Jealous of your work discounts!! Love the layered look of putting a top over it. This would definitely solve my fears of looking too 'basic' and like a shapeless sack!

  13. That dress is so beautiful, it really suits you :D I have the opposite problem and always find maxi dresses are a smidge too short for me :( I did finally find one in Primark that's the perfect length for me though which I'm super happy about :D Very jealous of your work discount!!
