Typing parts of this blog post at 1:47am on Monday morning because sometimes, you just get that odd midnight inspiration to chatter away. That time is right now. So I guess we're in the British summertime now, enjoying highs of around 3°C… and a hello to the most incessantly British opening to a blog post in ever. Nice to see you! ;)

Red printed T-shirt, c/o Uniqlo; Skirt, Unnamed boutique in Tseun Wan; Faux fur coat, Veeko; Kitty flatform wedges, Another unnamed boutique in Tsuen Wan; Initial necklace, c/o Ladybird Likes.

Over the Easter bank holiday weekend, I went out for food (no surprises there, right?) with my brother and sister. Cracked out this little ensemble and it was the perfect casual cosy chic look for lunch at ASK in our little hometown. Much like the rest of the fashion enthusiast ranks, I've been completely taken by the Celia Birtwell collection for Uniqlo. I'm a huge fan of Uniqlo because their clothes are just so insanely comfortable and… wearable, I guess? Basically they tick all the boxes for me and I'm forever finding new Uniqlo additions to ye olde wardrobe without realising. This red printed T-shirt is absolutely perfect, so soft and the best loose-but-fitted fit. (Am I making sense? I've been awake since stupid o'clock and we're now nearing 2am.) It's actually super long on me so I think I could get away with wearing it as a shirt dress. Awaiting judgemental glances and comments.

Plumped for my faux fur coat with this outfit, although I'm wearing it today too. With the weather remaining at a lovely summertime low, it makes sense to get as much wear out of it until I have to stash it away. Finally, I absolutely need to mention my kitty flatforms. Sadly they're not genuine Charlotte Olympias -- in fact, I picked these up in another of my favourite boutiques in Tseun Wan, and they were only around £24 which is a bargain! So adorable and comfy.

… So, we've reached 2am and my train of thought is absolutely everywhere at the moment. Hope you enjoyed a taster of nocturnal blogging life and seeing one of my current favourite outfits! Bonus outtake here because normal-human outfit photos are so yesterday. Come and chat over on Twitter?

  2. Such a lovely outfit! This sounds strange, but I love how real you came across in this post. It's so nice to see someone look like they're genuinely having fun in silly photos, or admitting that the best ideas come in the depths of nighttime. x

    1. Aw thank you so much Thalia, this really made me smile. I try not to take myself too seriously when I shoot outfit photos to be honest, at the end of the day, it's just a hobby (that I love)! I'm all about nighttime inspiration. ;) x

    1. Oh it's a sad state of affairs when faux fur is cracked out for the summer! Fingers crossed the weather picks up soon, I feel like I have so many summer plans and not enough summer weather to carry them through! x

  8. Hello Big bang tote!!! You look lovely and your hair looks really light -have you dyed it recently?

    1. The best £5 I ever did spend! Thanks Winnie - I haven't dyed it in around four years now, odd. I think my hair tends to lighten up at the first hint of sun though which is always nice. xx

  9. Simple but very elegant. That’s how I’m going to describe your outfit. As long as you’re comfortable with wearing your clothes, then wear them regardless of season. It was a good decision that you bought yourself that fur coat, by the way!

  14. Uniqlo is the absolute best, seeing all this Celia Birtwell for Uniqlo stuff on the blogosphere is super cruel because they don't ship here! I cannot believe it still hasn't warmed up over there.
