Public service announcement, re: adieu Google Reader.

Oh hey there! Remember me?

I'm home from my little holiday and word on the street is that Google is closing its Reader service from the 1st July. On the whole, this shouldn't affect Blogger users too much, you'll still be able to read Daisybutter on your Blogger dashboards, but if the trend continues, let's assume that GFC will be the next Google product to disapparate.

To keep afloat of things anew at Daisybutter, I personally read blogs on Bloglovin'. You can follow Daisybutter right here, and the handy ol' website even recommends more blogs to you and lets you like posts. Nice.

You can also find me on Facebook, where I pop links up to all of my shiny new written offerings, as well as bonus snippets about my mundane everyday life, and I'll soon be launching Facebook exclusive competitions and offers too.

Finally, you will always have a friend in me on Twitter. That sly old fox. I do a fair bit of commute chronicling on there, a handful of updates about everyday observations and a teeny bit of self promotion. Always up for a good chat on there if you find the comments system on here a little clunky.

Fingers crossed things don't change too much around here, but I'll see you around fo'sho. Come and say hello, and leave me a link to your blogs - it's time I refreshed my blogroll

  1. Hope you had a lovely holiday! I've always used Bloglovin' too as I find Google Reader a bit dull and clinical looking haha :-)

    1. Thank you Sam, had such a good time! I've flitted between the two, it always stresses me out when the unread count goes up and up on Bloglovin'! Hope you're well lovely x

  2. Hey Michelle, hope you enjoyed your break away! I really like Bloglovin' - the app is so good for having a gander at blogs on the go. Glad you're back and can update us again!

    1. Aw thanks Sophie, had a really nice break! Oh that is so true, I never manage to leave comments when reading on the go though, that's the only downside. x

  3. I doubt they would get rid of Blogger. Too much really good content on it and people would be really upset if they got rid of it. There are tons of RSS readers out there so I can see why they got rid of reader. If they do every junk Blogger try Wordpress.

    1. I think Blogger is here to stay for a little while longer, but there is probably scope for Google to merge it with another platform. If anything, it'll just be removing GFC from Blogger, hahah. x
