Tea and macaroons at Laduree with Lily.

I came across this selection of photos when making room on my memory card last night and thought I'd share some sun-soaked picture postcards of my tea date with the beautiful Lily.

I've never been to Laduree to eat 'properly' before, but I felt like a little princess of sorts when we sat on the balcony, overlooking Covent Garden, the swarms of tourists and the LOVE lovers' padlock fences, which have now been taken down. It's safe to say that Lily and I were in our element with a) our picturesque surroundings, b) my obsession with taking photos of meals, and c) Lily's enviable photography skillz.

We opted for a delectable platter of self-chosen macaroons (pink strawberry bubblegum, rose and pistachio, for us). Who could resist? Sweet little rounds of fluffy sugary goodness. Or not-so-goodness, depending on how you see it. Lily and I had a lovely catch-up, gossip and generally musing over everything and anything. I never thought I'd credit the blogging abyss for leading to make friends with genuinely ah-mazing people from all across the country. Come back soon, Lily!

  5. Laduree is literally one of my favorite places ever along with Convent Garden. I drag my long suffering boyfriend every single time we're in London. It's so beautiful there and the macaroons and pastries are to die for. Looks like you lovely ladies had a really good time

  10. Ahh, I really wish there was a Laduree cafe where I live! I think I'd go for the crockery alone :)

  11. Aah looks like a lovely place for tea! Your chosen macarons sound really nice too. The Laduree in Sydney is kind of a kiosk in Westfield so it definitely wouldn't have the same nice vibe.
