Evidently, I'm not wearing a navy blue velvet dress to the office today, and nor would a slubby pearl stitch cardigan suffice against the UK weather. Lavish Alice sent me this dress just before Christmas, and while I've worn a few times to more festive occasions, I didn't have time to shoot photos (#bloggerproblems) at the time. Long gone are the days of velvet being acceptable for day-to-day wear, but how adorable is this dress? It's slightly on the long side for me, and even in my regular size, it sits a little too loose on me, but I adore the heart cut-out at the back, and the beautiful midnight blue hue.
Paired it with my winter staples here, see: cardigan and studded smoking slippers, as well as a rose print snood and triple stacked rings. Easy, not-too-done, chic. I've become the laziest dresser recently, reaching for favourites instead of compiling new outfits and hunting down key trend pieces. It's about time I delved into the unknown and revamped, right? ♥

Love it xx

Even when you are a lazy dresser you look fab! The dress is gorgeous =) xx
ReplyDeleteLove the heart in the back. I reckon you probably could get away with it for everyday wear, but maybe that's just me! xx
ReplyDeleteLovely! x
ReplyDeleteStunning outfit! I think velvet should return to being a perfectly acceptable everyday fabric. Wouldn't we all just be so much more elegant? One of my pledges for 2013 was to dress up a little more often. Since starting uni I've been little-miss-leggings-and-a-hoodie which will just not do!
ReplyDeletethis is so cute!
