2013 Jar Project.
There's something about sleepy Sunday mornings and uncharacteristically bright beams of sunlight that kickstarts my creativity. Last week it saw the revival of my Tumblr blog, and this week, it sees me add to my 2013 Jar Project, that I (unsurprisingly) saw on Tumblr.
Start 2013 off with an empty jar and fill it with notes about good things that happen. On New Years' Eve, empty it and see what awesome stuff happened that year.
My jar is the Korken jar from Ikea, and it lives quite happily on my windowsill at the moment. To note down my moments and memories, I dug out my 2009-2010 diary (used about four times when Uni started...) after reading Gem's post about all things stationery - swoon. I bought this in Hong Kong, easily one of the homes of stationery, but you can purchase similar ones at PCHome, The Magic Notebook and Anthropologie.

Using the over-patterned pages of this diary will hopefully mean a decorative and meaningful jar for the year, as well as making the most of something that would've been left forgotten about in the depths of my bedroom drawers! I'm planning to decorate the side with a strip of washi tape soon too, and to add little folded stars made of paper momentos (think tickets, invites, etc.)!

Have you started a similar project for 2013?

  1. I watched Gem's video on this and loved the idea. I'm going to try and keep little keepsakes rather than write things down (it'll never look perfect enough) so I'll need to track down a decent-sized jar and get started! x
