The Limited Edition collection is a ten-piece range of both dresses and seperates, uniting the timeless designs that Lydia so personally favours, with subtle contemporary updates. Combined, the result is a distinctive and highly covetable collection that places the Lydia Rose Bright label firmly in the fashion radar.
Lucky little me also got to chat to Lydia about her inspirations for the collection and about her style...
Michelle: You have a very specific signature style that is apparent through your personal style and the pieces at Bella Sorella, where do your style inspirations come from?
Lydia: The 50s is my defining decade for style inspiration. I love all the style icons of the era, the glamour, the femininity, the elegance
M: What are the key silhouettes and textures in the Lydia Rose Bright collection? Why are these close to your heart for the debut collection?
L: The collection is heavily influenced by vintage style – the 20s, the 50s – the eras that I love, but it definitely has seasonal and trend references too. This is a limited edition collection for Christmas and so focuses heavily on dresses – for day and night. There’s lots of cute cocktail dress styles, figure-sculpting shapes in longer lengths, tulip shape skirts, off the shoulder detailing and texture-wise it’s really rich with lots of lace, velvet, crochet and embellishment.
M: What was the defining fashion moment for you, this year?
L: Definitely at the Bafta’s, when I wore a Dynasty dress, a brand which is stocked at my store.
Highlights of the collection, for me, were the asymmetric hem ivory crochet dress, and the beautiful beaded flapper Gatsby Girl dress. I'm honestly in love with the wearable yet timeless designs that Lydia has created and already can't wait to see more. Prices start at £65, and is stocked at LipstickBoutique.co.uk, as well as online at New Look, Lipsy, Very.co.uk and Bella Sorella. ♥
