Colour Block eyeshadow palette, £4, c/o VIVO Cosmetics. Available at Superdrug and select Tesco Extra stores.
As somewhat of an Urban Decay loyal when it comes to all things eyeshadow and palette, palettes from drugstore and supermarket brands rarely stand out for me and often get resigned to my rarely-used stylist kit. However, the Colour Block palette is VIVO Cosmetics' latest offering and is one that I can't stop reaching for, even on days where all I've had to do is sort out my accounts and bash out a couple of hundred words at home.

Featuring sixteen little cubes of both matte and shimmery, creamy eyeshadows, the palette has already been likened to the Naked palette via my Instagram photograph of it earlier in the week. While it is a little comparable to that popular palette, I'd describe it as an everyday, affordable alternative. The shadows are certainly of good quality, although I find they are more shimmery than pigmented, and they do apply really well. My favourite shades are dotted with Photoshop scribbles, for reference, and I tend to use the pale champagne colour as a highlight, the warmer gold/taupe shades all over the lid, with the bottom row colours to define.

At just £4, I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a palette for day and night looks. The plastic case palette itself probably wouldn't survive much travel, but it is ideal for popping in a weekend bag if you're careful with it, and it'd look equally as good on your dressing table. Will you be picking up this supermarket savvy choice?

  1. I am also an Urban Decay loyal ... even though I don't use much colored eyeshadow, I am really wanting the Vice palette! I might even buy it just to have it ... and use occasionally, of course :p And wow, four pounds sounds like a great deal!

  3. I'm a UD fan too and rarely get swayed by drugstore brands. This looks really lovely though - the shades look perfect and great for a weekend away because of it's compact size. Shame about the packaging but for £4 you really can't complain huh?

  6. Great palette. Really similar to the naked palette and the mua one. So cheap for someone who wants a high street alternative.
