Hello ladies! It's been a while since I blogged a photo diary, hasn't it?

I've been keeping busy with all manner of seeing friends before they headed back to Uni, catching up with blogger friends, spending too much money and eating too much good food. All pretty standard in the life of Mish! My current contract at work ended this week, so things are a little up in the air while I'm between jobs and potentially sorting out some exciting plans. I've mostly spent my afternoons updating my portfolio and simultaneously wanting to throw my laptop out of the window! My MacBook Pro isn't far away now...

Today sees my family and most other Chinese/Asian families celebrate 中秋節, or the Mid-Autumn Festival, or Chuseok for Koreans. Seeing as I'm not a huge fan of mooncake (I know, I'm as ashamed as you are!), I'm just looking forward to a huge feast at Granny's tonight and having cuddles with my baby cousin. When my siblings and I were little, we used to steal little chunks of mooncake from the table before dinner, and run amok the house with light-up Chinese lanterns! Mine was a Hello Kitty one that sung, FYI ;)

Hope everyone is well and enjoyed their weekends! Let me know what you're doing to celebrate 中秋節, if you are!

  1. Oooh all this food! And I'm not into nail art usually but thsoe nails are amazing!

My family didn't celebrate the moon festival, but I remember moon cake from when I was little (I didn't like it either!). I LOVED lanterns as well, I'd totally forgotten about them until you mentioned it but I think I had one that sun as well!

  3. Just came home from the most MASSIVE feast for the Moon Festival. Also not a huge fan of mooncake, but I love how it brings the whole family together!

Perks and IQ84 are two of my absolute favourites, so definitely get around to reading them as soon as possible!

Did I mention, I want your life?

  12. I've had way too much mooncake and like a little picky child, I only have it for the yolks! The idea is interesting but I have to admit that looking at the 3D makes me feel a bit queasy. Something about the little clusters of raised dots :o Also I've recently just finished Perks.. and it is so good. Can't wait for the film now. Just an excuse to gawp at Emma Watson really. And I picked up The Casual Vacancy but stupidly started reading another book first so can't wait to start reading that too! Had a little Google of what 1Q84 and I'm adding it to my reading list now. You make good book choices, Michelle!! x

  16. Aww so loved seeing your snaps from Motel Rocks! Did you meet Natasha? I did some work experience there and helped out with some ideas for this event on my last day. I thought a hair and nail bar would be great so I'm glad they went through with it - who did the nails for you?
