Crochet kimono, Topshop; Polka dot top, New Look; Stripey shorts, 長洲 Market; Flatforms, H&M; Large 'Felix Felicis' necklace, Sawyer & Scout. There's something about oversized, draped fabrics that makes me slightly enjoy the summer. While AW oversized demands cuddly, slubby knits that are more voluminious than anything, the summer brings a whole new depth with shapes and silhouettes, and they're so cosy and easy to wear. Cracked out my favourite crochet kimono that you girls convinced me to buy last summer (although I still wish I was as forward-thinking as
Emma to buy two and dye one...), and paired it with a silky, polka dot top that I bought on a whim (as always) ages and ages ago. There's something about these two pieces put together that makes me feel really luxe! Popped a stripey pair of shorts (bought these in Cheung Chau 長洲 market for HK$20!!) underneath and dug out my old favourite Felix Felicis necklace to add something extra. And I said I was scared of clashing. So, about that...
I'm currently really enjoying experimenting with my wardrobe. Looking back at my past few outfit posts, my style looks completely eclectic and a little random, but I think that defines 'me' down to a tee! I guess it isn't any secret now that I'm a huge advocate of some form of upcycling, and I adore pairing new pieces with old favourites. I'm a huge hoarder, so more often than not, the clothes I wear aren't current store stock!
