Busy busy Saturday - for once! I've spent my day sorting through mounds of belongings ready to pack for the Easter break (anyone else similarly capable of earning a degree in the hoarding of clothes and nail varnishes?), shooting beauty product still life photos for Uni projects and getting angry at my laptop/Photoshop, and now I'm just about to leave for a well overdue catch-up with my friend and fellow blogger, Mandy.

(Wrap dress, c/o LOVE;
Polka dot tights, Primark;
Socks, Topshop;
Aggie suede boots, ASOS;
Coat, Topshop;
Alexa, Mulberry;
Nails, Models Own Pink Punch.)

I wore this wrap dress a few weeks ago to work at the HyperJapan exhibition but didn't get a chance to photograph or blog it in between dishing up ramen and gyoza to hungry people! For the record, I wore it with 'work' flats and jeans. It's quite thin and the quality isn't amazing, so underneath I'm wearing a trusty pair of cycling shorts - I know, I know, so glam(!) - and a camisole, which was really more for the warmth. Perfect winter/spring transition chic!

Not sure how England can do weather 180's with such enthusiasm to be honest: on Thursday I instantly regretted wearing a winter coat outdoors and today I could've done with about five more layers when I was shooting my photos! I think I've rediscovered my love for patterned tights, mostly polka dot tights, so popped a pair of those in the mix once more. Clashing prints makes for such an easy, effortless look, who woulda thunk it took me all of about 10 minutes to get ready today?

Venturing into town on a Saturday for the first time in weeks today to indulge in a catch-up with Mandy. We're having lunch at Turtle Bay, a Caribbean restaurant in the City centre, which is always ridiculously good! If you're ever in the area and don't mind food with a bit of a spicy kick, I'd really recommend it. What types of food do you opt for when you eat out? Any interesting, out-of-the-norm recommendations for me?

  1. Loving the outfit Michelle! And yes, I am the living proof you can earn a degree and work your way through 3rd year in a pile of clothes, nail varnishes and lipsticks so don't worry. ; )

  2. I love this outfit :)
    I saw the aggie boots on ASOS the other day and loved them, but they only seem to have grey or navy. I was just wondering what colour the ones in this post are? They look black! Black would be ideal if they do do them, but I might have to settle for grey or navy :(

    Thanks :)

  3. Love those polka dot tights, they're so cute! The print on the dress is lovely too.
    Turtle Bay sounds like it would definitely be my kind of restaurant, Caribbean food is amazing. I love spicy food, Mexican and Thai are my favourites!

  5. Ahhh you've reminded me that I need to find some more spotty tights! I bought some from primark last summer but they split after wearing them. Your shoes look lovely with the whole outfit too. Hope you enjoy your day up town!

  7. Ohh really cannot be bothered having to pack for Easter. Thinking that this could potentially be a good excuse to buy more clothes if I "accidentally" leave a load of stuff at uni. You always wear patterned tights so well, Michelle! Going to invest in more I think x

    Ahh, I know what you mean about England's 180 weather. It's so confusing. Next thing you know, we'll be getting snow in the middle of August!
    Aww, love the way you styled the prints together.
    Hope you have a nice Saturday!

  13. Thank you Emily! Mine are black, I bought them last August which is probably why they don't stock them in black anymore, keep an eye out though because I always see them come back in once every few weeks! xx

  17. Haha ;) I don't even have that option because my final deadline at Uni is 9th May and I start at InStyle on the 28th, so I'm attempting to start sifting through my things and move half of it home at Easter :P Thanks Jade! Hope you're well! xx

    I like finding little cafes in the streets of Winchester and trying their house specialty. That way, you get to try things that you might not order normally :)
