Currently struggling to find inspiration and motivation while Gossip Girl takes another inconsiderate hiatus. You can't really go wrong with a little black dress, so I threw this on for Uni today, completely underestimating the sun once again. Big mistake - I ended up carrying my coat around for most of the day.

(Peter pan collared dress, Topshop w/ my own studs;
Tights, Primark;
Black suede 'Aggie' boots, ASOS;
Corduroy and lace cardigan, Plata;
Tote, London Fashion Week SS12;
Bracelet, c/o Mulberry;
Ring, c/o Jimmy and His Girl.)

Remember when the coloured Peter Pan tunics took over in Topshop? Well I dug my black tunic out, chopped the sleeves off, spent an evening watching films and sewed gold and pearl beads on the bodice, et voila: the perfect transformation of a timeless piece. Can't stop wearing this cardigan with absolutely everything either, it can look a little much to some but I absolutely love it. I often wear it with a longline T-shirt and leggings for lounging around the house in! I'm tempted to splurge and buy one of the NEWGEN shirts at Topshop, but can't decide between the Erdem and Ashish shirts!

Think I'm going to hibernate tonight with a jar of filter coffee, some films and my dissertation notes for company. I seriously need to get my head around upcoming deadlines, sort out my bedroom and get back on schedule after mornings and evenings of too much Internet! Tumblr and Youtube, y u so addictive?!

    Wow this is amazing! I wish I could customize but I'm terrible at sewing! I got the Emma Cook NEWGEN tee, but was tempted by the Erdem one too!

  9. Love the little DIY, Michelle. I've personally been debating whether I should get the Ashish, Christopher Kane or Emma Cook tee. Maybe we should just get them all? ; )

  28. Absolutely love your cardigan, never would have thought of corduroy and lace together but it is so cute, I own too many longline cardigans but they are too comfy with leggings and a long t-shirt for lounging! Looking gorgeous in your photos, love the first one! :) xxx

  29. For such a simple DIY, it adds a lovely effect (: yup, they're on hiatus for another 4 weeks, it's a joke! I guess I can use the time to catch up on work instead though. Not really a Skins kinda gal unfortunately! xx

  34. I have the green version of your dress, except mine isn't long enough (read I have too much bum and boobs) to wear as a dress. I love the studs you've added to it as well.

    Don't stress Michelle, you'll get there, I bet you're one of the few students who has as much work done as you do, certainly if my class is anything to go by- we have a research project due soon, and it amazes me how little some of them have done, when the deadline is getting so near.
