After shamefully wimping out of street style for over two years, over the weekend I plucked up the courage to approach well-dressed strangers at the HyperJapan exhibition event to capture some inspiration. I've always been an avid people-watcher, in a non-creepy vicinity, and Japanese street style is notorious for its devil-may-care attitude. While you won't see me wandering around in a kimono or Cosplaying on a day-to-day basis, I love how effortlessly put together the other two looks are, and how beautiful are the last pair of shoes?! What are you currently inspired by on the street?

  1. My aim for this year is to start trying out some street style snaps, but it's rather daunting! I just scheduled a little post about it and I'm doing a bit of research just now, any tips? Great photos by the way! I love the first pair of shoes x

  13. I love these, actually! I don't think I'd have the guts to approach people to take pictures of them.
I'm currently being inspired by no one on the streets of Sydney, the clothes people wear here are such a contrast to the street style in Europe! Most people dress really casually here.

  15. It's quite scary to start with but really fun to snap people's outfit and chat about clothes with them! Most of the time, they're more than happy to stop and pose if you're polite and explain what it is you're doing (: hand out some business cards as you go along too! Thanks Charlotte! xx

  27. I SO wanted to go to hyperjapan but it was just one of those things where life got in the way :/ I've seen a few blogs and pics of it and it loks like there was some lovely stuff there! Fairy kei is probably one of my fave 'street styles' at the moment and though I'm not brave enough to go all out the care bear jumper and unicorn hair clip get me just the right amount of odd looks at the bus station ;)

  28. Those first boots need to be on my feet! I love street style but I feel awkward asking people where they've got something never mind asking for a picture haha
