Olive green jersey shorts, Forever 21;
Super cosy tights, Primark;
Suedette slipper shoes, New Look;
Mini mac jacket, H&M;
'Alexa' bag, Mulberry.)
Received this adorable deer print shirt in the post a couple of days ago and knew I had to wear it immediately! It's been a while since a piece of clothing has managed to do that to me, but how could I resist pink, polka dots and deer all in one piece? I teamed it with my faithful Forever 21 shorts and standard black tights because Southampton is seriously cold. Continuing on the DIY theme from my post the other day, I found a black ribbon from an old Glossybox or similar parcel to pop underneath the collar. I hardly ever button shirts right up to the top but quite enjoyed it today!
Taking today's outfit photos was such a hassle today. While at Uni, I typically suck it up, lug my DSLR and tripod outdoors and shoot a load of photos on timer and continuous shutter release. Don't you love it when swarms of people decide to walk up and down the street just as you step outside and when there is minimal time before sundown? #outfitbloggerproblems Nevertheless, I got them done in the end! How do you girls shoot your outfit photos?
Finally, I just wanted to mention one of the projects I'm working on with a friend at Uni at the moment. We're creating, designing and writing a fashion and lifestyle magazine for postgraduate females, and everything is lookin' spick and span if I must say so myself! We're seeking an illustrator to assist with image contributions throughout the magazine, so if you can help out at all, please get in touch. We're hoping to sell the magazine at a small cost once everything is complete, handed in and printed, and it'd be a great opportunity to show your work 'properly'! ♥

ohhh michelle, this shirt made me squeal with delight. it's so nice, you look wicked.
ReplyDeletejade, a little lipstick. xx
I wish I had the guts to take pictures by myself with my tripod. Unfortunately I don't, so I have to drag Tony out on his odd day off from work to take them for me x
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful blouse! xo
ReplyDeleteI love your blouse and I've just noticed your new blog header I love it so much!! x
ReplyDeleteThank you Jade! Felt exactly the same when it popped through the door, it's the loveliest print ever! (:
ReplyDeleteLuckily because Southampton is such a student city, I can pretend I'm working on a Uni project with my photos! Looks so profesh with my massive camera, tripod and my bags! I always prefer it when a friend or my sister takes them for me though. xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Jasmine! xx
ReplyDeleteAwh thank you Peaches (:
ReplyDeleteThis is a majorly cute blouse Michelle, you look great! I know what you mean about people appearing JUST as your about to take photos. I make my mum take my photos, my own little photographer haha! xx
ReplyDeleteYour new header looks soo good! Love the illustration. And yes, the shirt is adorable, especially with the cute ribbon bow - good idea! I don't think I'd ever be brave enough to stand in front of a tripod in public! I can just about handle it with my flatmate taking my photos for me x
ReplyDeleteAw thank you Courtney! Yeah that was just what happened today ;) usually it's quite empty but I had all sorts walking around today, and a group of schoolgirls giggling and sharing a cigarette haha! I usually have a friend or my sister take my photos for me!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jade! :D oh I can't decide which is worse, I'm awful with cameras, but at least with a tripod I can take my time to get my photos "right"! I live in a quieter area of the student area of the city so it isn't too embarrassing usually! xx
ReplyDeleteAwww that blouse is super cute! But to be honest, in my eyes, anything with 'bambi' on is cute hehe! Gorgeous new header too Michelle! xx
ReplyDeleteLove your shirt :) it's gorge.
ReplyDeleteI'm having a giveaway on my blog atm of a cat print shirt which you might be interested in?

I wish I was that dedicated with my outfit shots! Mine are all taken within the warmth of my house haha. I need to get a decent camera tho as I'm sick of using my computer to take pictures! Saving up for an SLR but don't have a clue where to even begin with them. Any suggestions?
Tasha :) x
Such a cute shirt! I absolutely love it! Also, your new header is amazing. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThat shirt is adorable, I was going to say I loved the ribbon tie detail but even more so knowing it was DIY! Beauty

Thanks Claire! Oh I know right, although the film always makes me sob like a baby! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Natasha! I used to shoot mine indoors but the natural lighting outdoors just makes my clothes look more 'real' if that makes sense (: I use a Nikon D3100 which I'd highly recommend as an entry-level camera, as someone who has used a LOT of different DSLR's (: xx
ReplyDeleteEee thanks Amy!
ReplyDeleteAw thank you Natalie! I literally just saw it lying on the side, grabbed it and tied a little bow ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's bambi! love it =) and your shorts. I just got my first order of f21 stuff and excited to wear them!
ReplyDeleteI'm currently shooting outfit posts in our spare room. When it's sunnier and my garden is less of a tip might do them in the garden but it's just mud at the moment...
OMG I NEED THIS SHIRT!!!
ReplyDeletePossibly the cutest shirt ever! x
ReplyDeleteThat shirt is just precious - and I like the ribbon DIY addition x
ReplyDeleteLove your shirt! And good luck with your magazine - I would offer my illustrating abilities but going with my current mood - all I can draw at the moment are the adventures of a depressed robot called Charles, probably not what you're looking for, lol. You'll have to give us a sneak peek! :) xx
ReplyDeleteEverything about this outfit is s sweet. This blouse really suits you!
ReplyDeleteI'd be too embarrassed to do my photographs outside, I was scared when I did it in the garden incase my neighbours saw and thought 'what on earth is she doing!?' lol I guess I have nothing to worry about but it's quite uncomfortable!
I just set my tripod/timer in my tiny room, there really is no space lol. I use a remote sometimes too which makes things easier.

So flippin' cute! Thanks lovely (: aw that makes sense, our student house isn't big enough for outfit photos anywhere and we definitely don't have a spare room, so outdoors I go! xx
ReplyDeleteIt's so cute! Popped your ad up today too lovely (:
ReplyDeleteThank you! xx
ReplyDeleteI'm seriously in love with it, such a beautiful print and the material is really silky soft! (: thanks Milly! xx
ReplyDeleteAw thank you sweet! Hope you find some inspiration soon (: I'll be selling the magazine at a low cost once I'm all handed in, no doubt some sneak previews will spring up in my Week in Photos, it's ever so time consuming! xx
ReplyDeleteD'awh thanks Jade! My neighbours must think I'm insane or seriously vain :P I just go under the pretence of it being a Uni project as we're such a student City in Southampton (: xx
ReplyDeleteLove your blouse!

Gutte its sold out, I love the blouse!! Good look also x
ReplyDeleteI love this shirt! ever so prettyfull!
ReplyDeleteI either get Sam to take pictures for me, if we're out and about, or use a careful method called 'balancing the camera on top of an upturned vase on the kitchen counter'... it takes a few attempts and running backwards and forwards (and a few mishaps!) but more or less works!! xx
The shirt is adorable, and so you! I have heaps of trouble on the rare occassions when I shoot outfit photos, because I have no tripod and I'm too self-conscious to do it in public. So my camera's usually balancing precariously on something while I hope up on my bed to pose, aha.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the magazine, sounds like a really cool project!
The shirt is so adorable!! I am in love :)
ReplyDeleteThanking you :D best print in the world! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you Sarah (: they've told me that it is expected to come back in stock within two weeks time! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you gorgey! On an upturned vase?! You are a brave blogger ;) I used to use a shelf in my wardrobe and angle it down with a clutch bag hahah, and then in my last flat I'd hold it up on the shelf with my jewellery box and a box of chocolates - you can't say we're not creative! xx
ReplyDeleteAw thank you Jane! That sounds about right to me ;) I've tried all manner of objects and methods but gave in and bought a cheap tripod in the end, somehow I don't think precariously stacking books, shoeboxes, or moving my wardrobe (which is what I balanced mine on before) outdoors would work! Thanks lovely, shall try and keep everyone updated via my Week in Photos! xx
ReplyDeleteThank you ^^
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty shirt, it really suits you. I love how you've styled it :)

ReplyDeleteThanks Olivia!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome :)
ReplyDeleteOoh thank you Gem, will have a little look into that, am tearing my hair out trying to piece everything together for the magazine atm! I feel so grown-up yet about 5 y/o all at the same time when wearing this shirt ;) xxxx
