saudade (n.) - a feeling of nostalgic longing for something or someone that one was fond of and which has been lost.
Today I wore clothes, had a media law lecture and seminar, ate one of those four-in-one, normal flavoured Kit-Kats, watched the new Gossip Girl episode, and took photos of myself/my outfit. Just another day...! Happy Valentine's to everyone who is celebrating it with a loved one today, I'm spending my evening with a book, some more music (currently rediscovering lots of old favourites!) and making sausages, sweet potato, roast potatoes and red onions for dinner. Not a bad 14th Feb if you ask me!

I know, I know, it's still far too cold to even think about the spring. Nevertheless, I decided to wear, not one, but two pastel sheer shirts. My peachy coloured shirt is on its' way out now, the collar and cuffs are faded; even the buttons are holding on for dear life. I wore my new brass bow necklace tucked underneath the first collar, as inspired by SO many photos on the ol' Tumblr, and then threw my crochet kimono on over the top. Perfectly laidback, just the way I felt today. I think a black kimono would look a hundred times better than cream, but c'est la vie, there are far more important things to worry about!

Hope you're all having a loved up Valentine's, whether with your lucky other half, your friends or er, your dinner! I'm currently listening to one of Jay Chou's newer releases and debating making the long journey to the kitchen!

  1. I love how you've layered your sheer shirts together, I may have to try that sometime. The peach and pastel blue colour go together so nicely!

  2. Love the post title! Oh, Mish...I want your pastel shirts! I need to go out and invest in some spring pieces but I keep looking at my bank balances and realising that it's probably not the best timing! Ah well, it's still freezing cold! Can I come round for dinner? I'm not really celebrating. Just chilling out with some pizza :) Happy Valentines x

  22. I've been all over pastels lately. Too bad it is freezing outside and my burgundy snood is more appropriate than my mint green dress. Oh well...
