daisybutter - UK Style Blog: wishlist, spring summer, trends, pastels, beauty, topshop, mulberry, yesstyle

This year, I've promised to step out of my comfort zone and embrace the Spring Summer with open arms with regards to my wardrobe. I always automatically opt for dark colours, but these are the first few pieces online that I've decided would belong in my wardrobe and not in a stuffy warehouse. I really like the icy blue of the Topshop sheer shirt: it'd make a welcome change from that peachy/nude one that I'm forever wearing. The other tunic from Topshop is covered in the sweetest, subtle polka dot pattern which I love, and would wear with my RI jeans, and the black (I cheated) sheer, longline shirt from River Island will look amazing with a bralet, leggings and a boyish jacket. Need the Yesstyle shorts and Ever Ours tunic in my wardrobe ASAP as well.

The new Harriet collection at Mulberry is absolutely perfect, and this clutch is no exception. I think I'm falling out of love with the repetitive satchel shape, which is why the Harriet clutch and leather totes stood out to me a little more! Depending on how well my dissertation progress goes - you all know that I work on a word count reward basis - I might treat myself to some new nail colours for the new season, and a Tangle Teezer to sort out my hair. Beauty bloggers, coughcough Corrie!, are too persuasive for their own good!

Finally, I'm probably going to spend some of my Waterstones points on this novel by Haruki Murakami. It sounds completely different from what I like to read, which are classics, historical literature and fantasy/manga for the record, but I did say I wanted to explore new books this year! Any book recommendations for me while we're here?

  6. Lovely taste as per michelle! Btw I've just started 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami, and it's really good! I recommend that if you fancy "End of the world" :) Don't know if you've read it, but totally give it a try.
I'm reading Jane Eyre at the moment - getting in touch with my Classic side ;) xx

  10. These are great selections Michelle, I too had my eye on that pale blue shirt - it looks so lovely and floaty! I bought a longish midi skirt in the sales and I'm determined to wear it this summer, even though it's daunting, not the thing people usually wear around my ends!

  11. I LOVE that dress, so cute! Going to have to check out the brand now :)

  13. Ooh, lovely bits here! And so fabulously laid out! Hope your dissertation is going well... Mine was traumatising (was literally writing my bibliography a few hours before hand-in) but if I can get through it, I'm sure you'll be fine :)

  15. I have the most horrific spending habit ever! Trying to spend my money sensibly this year though, so much to save for with graduation and internships! A Tangle Teezer is a sensible enough buy though of course ;) xx

  16. Me too, while you're there haha! I don't actually even own a hairbrush or comb, been using a new one that I found in my parents' bathroom while I've been home, because my hairdresser scolded me the other day!

  17. Such a perfect colour, I think it'll be my 5,000 word reward (: Ooh, would you Rachel? Been trying to find reviews and places to buy, I think I'm just looking in the wrong place! Hope you're well, lovely! xx

  18. I know right! Always such a bad idea to browse online for new things when I have no disposable money!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oww really?! I'm gonna look into that, because I'm crap at brushing my hair and £12 is a LOT to spend on something I won't use all that much! Got such matted and knotty hair atm now that it's finally growing! xx

  20. Thanks lovely! Ooh that was my second option actually, both were recommended to me on Twitter this morning (: and I adore Jane Eyre, I read it for 'leisure' when I was at school haha, such a geekling! xx

  21. Ooh is it? Do you have a review link that I can read by any chance? Trying to weigh up how good it'll be, I can't get hold of my ever faithful Macadamia Oil atm ): The Tangle Teezer is right at the top of mine atm, my hair gets so knotted!

  22. Soul sistaaa, it's on my bookmarks as well ;) Need to get rid of at least a quarter of my wardrobe before I'm allowing myself any more new clothing items. I wore the chiffon pleated dress in my last post if you need persuading - I LOVE IT. xx

    ReplyDelete
  23. Awh no! ): It's super pretty though, and looks quite baggy? xx

  24. Thank you Katie! It looks lovely! I might hold out to see if H&M or New Look sell a cheaper version though, and I'm not letting myself buy anything until I've downsized my wardrobe by a quarter :P

  30. I have promised myself to step out of my comfort zone in the make up I wear. Going to experiment more and be more open to using more colours. (So if you see me looking like a clown, you'll know why!) I love the colour tones you've used here. I love the Mulberry clutch but my fave item here has to be Tangle Teezer! I need to get one! x

  50. I've been meaning to write a review of it for The Glossy Guide actually! I use both it and Moroccan Oil, and I have to say it does everything Moroccan Oil does, though Moroccan Oil does help sort out damaged hair in a way Mythic Oil does not. However, I think that Mythic Oil makes up for it in that unlike Moroccan Oil it can also be used on dry hair like a serum to give it a nice high gloss finish - I hope that helps!

Also, I am the hugest fan of Murakami and that book is one of my favourites of his! I always tell my friends to read that one to start them all! Hope you enjoy that too. Lovely picks :)
