Topshop and River Island are standouts this season on the High Street for me: River Island surprisingly a little more so than Topshop for once, their range of dresses and colour palette is just gorgeous, although Topshop are a little more on trend with beautiful pastel hues. I'm more than likely to be investing in one of these lilac or mint drop hem sheer shirts, you all know how much I loved my New Look one from last year! Added some soft knits out of habit, although we all know deep down that those will get more wear than strappy playsuits and sandals!
I still haven't come across my perfect pair of spring shoes yet. Ideally I'm picturing something tan, woven and simple, but the High Street haven't read my mind (or blog) just yet sadly. I adore these taupe flats with bright neon pink though, I've placed them on my mental 'to buy' list, because they'll be perfect for the workplace when I start my internship in June! I've also started to let my mind wander into handbag territory again, almost a year after my parents gifted me a Mulberry Alexa for my 20th birthday. The mint green 'drench holdall' is classic and cutesy, without looking too young, and again, would be somewhat of a fashion investment by way of my upcoming internships.
Which pieces are you currently coveting for the impending SS12 season? What are your thoughts on the pastel trend? Let me know so I can add more to my own wishlist - my shopping habit is lethal! Have a lovely evening, I'm easing myself into more dissertation reading and data collection prep tonight! ♥
black playsuit looks like its going to be a winner! great wishlist! xx fc

Anything pastel and I'm keen :) I don't really have much in those shades so that's definitely something I want more of for Spring xx
ReplyDeleteloving the mint green hold all, very summer! I love how river island is coming out of that sort of "chavvy" era they had like 2 years ago and stepping into the more fashionable side :)
ReplyDeletePlease check out my blog here <3
You need to get the blue dress and the striped jumper!
ReplyDeletethe sleeveless sheer shirts are gorgeous as is the chunky cream knit. but i have to say the thing which caught my eye straight away was the mint holdall, so nice! this is the issue with reading blogs... you are tempted to shop 24/7! xxx
ReplyDeleteNot liking the pastel trend tbh, just don't have the wardrobe for it and with my spending ban I won't have anytime soon!

I'm thinking that I'm a little too pale for this pastel trend! I love the navy dress though.I don't normally look at River Island but on the main website page there is the cutest coral/orange skater dress! Congratulations on your internships, exciting! xx
ReplyDeleteI wish the high street would read my blog too, haha!
ReplyDeleteThe mind holdall is lovely and I love the drop hem sheer shirts too!xx
That navy dress is gorgeous! Surprisingly I am quite drawn to the pastel trend, despite my pasty pale skin!

Those two vests need to get into my wardrobe *now*.

I love those pastel coloured shirts, so pretty! Those pumps are gorgeous too, love the flash of pink! x
ReplyDeletePersonally absolutely loving the pastel trend, finding it so hard to not splurge already...it's just so cute and makes me think of candy and the mulberry campaign...all good things in my mind!

I think I'm going to make something like this so I don't lose sight of stuff I really want this year. Love the two tops specially the purple one and the sweater!
ReplyDeleteTopshop and pastels are two of my favourite things! I adore the mint green bag. The polka dot dress is adorable, too. I saw a similar one at H&M the other day. These pieces are all to die for!
ReplyDeleteI adore the mints and the pinks but I find the creamier tones wash me out, with my fair skin I cannot pull off the pastels, some people can but I am not a fan.
ReplyDeleteI own bright coloured bras so also dislike that the fabric is literally see through more often than not.
The trend is cute and do-able, loving the pink bow shoes! Maybe it's just me but I will never be able to pull off this trend so I only own one mint blouse and a pastel-pink jumper, everything else I would don would be black or a bright colour. Don't really dig tans either :(
It's an adorable collection, if only I had darker skin
xx

I absolutely love that black playsuit, it's so so pretty, actually all your picks are lovely! And I know right, River Island is getting better and better recently, there's some lovely clothes. I like the pastel trend to look at but I won't be buying any of it for myself, it's not really my thing, haha! x
ReplyDeleteOh the purple and light blue tee's are stunning! I really want a pair of woven tan shoes, I think they'd look lovely with floaty skirts!
ReplyDeleteI love that dress!

I am loving Topshop at the moment! I think it can be so hit and miss but I am so drawn to their pastel shirts right now. Have a lovely weekend :) xx

I never tend to like their Spring Summer stuff, but I'm ready to embrace the Spring and all of its' pastel glory atm (: thanks sweet, you too! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks Nichola! I think paler complexions can pull of pastels really well, if not better (: I'm planning a Ways to Wear about this trend next week, so keep an eye out for it sweet! xx
ReplyDeleteWaa I know the feeling ): I read and made notes on a good 9 journal articles haha, so progress has been made and social life is non-existent once more! My poster came today, bloody love it! xx
ReplyDeleteSee I beg to differ! I think pastels work best with a pale complexion (: As long as you opt for a cool tone to compliment your skin, it looks gorgeous! I'm posting a Ways to Wear for the pastel trend next week, so keep an eye out for that. Thanks Victoria! xx
ReplyDeleteMmm I've even bookmarked the mint holdall haha, my obsession is growing! Eeep, I know the feeling :P I'm one of those bloggers who tends to just restyle old pieces rather than buy anew all the time though (:
ReplyDeleteSssh don't tempt me Rachel! :P xx
ReplyDeleteI haven't looked in Topshop for a little while but your picks are really lovely. I really like River Island these days, I like how they've moved away from the tackier clothes that they used to stock and are much more competition for Topshop than they ever used to be. Also, you must be so excited to start your internship in June! Woop!
ReplyDeleteI love those little sleeveless shirts, I managed to nab one in the TopShop sale last week in a deep purple but I love the pastel blue one here.
ReplyDeleteI just generally can't wait to get pastels back into my Summer wardrobe :) xoxo
