daisybutter - UK Style Blog: christmas party, ways to wear, outfits

The Big Day is a mere five days away, or four depending on how you see it, and the wonderful Sarah is hosting a swish Christmas Bloggers' Party tonight for the blogosphere's finest. Champagne, crackers and Christmas Classics are all on offer, from the comfort of your very own home. Ahem. Basically, once in a while, Sarah and a few of us other designer-lovin' creatures like to find excuses to peruse designer clothes, shoes and accessories in the name of blogging.

(Premium pin spot velvet blazer, £85, Topshop;
Metallic pleat flippy tunic, £32, Topshop;
Black strappy block heel, £24.99, New Look;
Glitter ankle socks, £1, New Look;
Pink mix fabric clutch, £28, Topshop;
Arrow head pendant, £6.50, Miss Selfridge.)

My High Street option is all about texture, sparkles and a slight injection of distaste. I'm in love with these flippy skater dresses from Topshop, and for the festive season, they've brought out this metallic, pleated number. I'd wear a black velvet blazer over the top to pull the look together, and pop a mismatched clutch under my arm. Accessories-wise, I "share" these heels with my housemate at Uni, so I'd wear those, with some slightly-ruched ankle glitter socks. Jewellery to be kept discreet with an arrow necklace to streamline with the blazer collar.

(Leonard shearling coat, £5,775, The Row;
Apri beaded tiered silk-blend dress, £505, Alice + Olivia;
Candy glitter acrylic clutch, £350, Jimmy Choo;
Crystal-embellished peeptoe pumps, £1,470, Gucci;
18k rose hold diamond arabesque ring, £3,405, Diane Kordas.)

My designer option is much more refined and Gossip Girl-esque, decadent ball appropriate. This Alice + Olivia dress is so Blair Waldorf, and anything that brings me a step closer to being in her well-heeled shoes is a good thing in my world. Added some sparkly, rose gold accessories and a shearling coat by The Row for midnight escapes with Mr Chuck Bass himself. The key with designer is minimalistic and not to over-accessorise, so an understated cocktail ring like this would be perfect for such an occasion.

I hope you enjoyed my pickings for Sarah's soiree, feel free to join in with your own outfit choices too, I'd love to know which High Street and designer pieces you'd wear to a Bloggers' Christmas Party. Be sure to have a read of the other guests' posts as well, I'm sure we've taken over your Dashboards, but let's be honest, there's nothing better than a guilt-free peruse of designer goodies.

  24. I wish I could say something like "I love that dress!", or "I love the shoes!", but there is no way I can make up my mind on what piece I prefer. They're all so gorgeous! I'd happily wear the High Street versions with my girlfriends on a night out, and the designer version to a fancy dinner with the family.
