I've also had a mini influx of new followers recently, so hello! and this feature is something that is supposed to happen on the regular. I provide three Looks that I've styled from the high street, to provide you with inspiration for either a forgotten item in your wardrobe or a current trend. Don't take this as a 'you-must-buy-all-of-this' or 'you-have-to-wear-what-I-say', this feature is supposed to inspire you to resurrect all the old things in your wardrobe, but using high street garments is just the easiest way to do this!

Look One: topshop sequin bird knit · new look skirt · topshop backpack · zara flat boots · ever ours pumpkin carriage necklace
How cute is this sequin bird jumper from Topshop?! It looks buttery soft and adds just enough sequin for the festive period, while letting you keep warm, which we're all struggling with in the UK at the moment. For a little DIY project, I'm 99.9% sure that you can buy little sequinned bird (or other) motifs in haberdasheries - the John Lewis ones are pretty good - so you could easily pop a safety pin through the back and attach to an existing jumper? Just an idea! Love the idea of a big chunky knit with a tight bodycon skirt: I have no idea where mine have disappeared to, but I'm determined to resurrect that phase of my style. Finish with a slouchy backpack, i.e. don't put anything big and clunky in there, and some sweet ankle boots.

Look Two: topshop sequin top · river island coated jeans · miss selfridge blazer · miss selfridge wedges
I styled this Look for a Christmas night out. I'm sure a lot of people are currently trying to put together outfits for their work parties, final festive celebrations before heading home from Uni... you get the gist. I've been after coated jeans for AGES, and after sending an ever-useful plea out on Twitter, someone recommended River Island. Really tempted to get these in the January sales! Add a sequin vest, sized up and left untucked, and pop a soft blazer over the top for a luxe and sophisticated Look.
If you haven't yet seen Part One of this feature, don't forget to have a read for inspiration of how to wear a sequinned skirt. I also have a party season guide at Ways to Wear Daily, so there's plenty of outfit inspiration for you! Hope you enjoyed this part of the feature, and the new festive touches to my blog. I still haven't had the time to code my planned layout, but bear with me, there'll be something in the works over the coming weeks! Off to begin my packing now, but I'll hopefully be back tomorrow, blogging from home for a catch-up! ♥
I love these! I wear sequins all year around, day or night, and this second outfit is right up my street. :)

I love sequins, and the sweater in the first outfit is one I'd definitely pick up. It's adorable. The shoes in outfit 2 are to die for.

Loving sequins at the moment, I'm rocking some Black Sequin hotpants tomorrow but I have no idea what to wear on top, any suggestions? I love that top as well, am trying to find a perfect sequin dress but not found the perfect one on a student budget yet :( Danni xxx

ReplyDeleteMe too (: I'd opt for a light coloured slouchy T-shirt, off shoulder type of thing with black sequin hotpants. I know Motel have a sequinned dress which is gorgeous, but quite pricey at best! xx

You're right about the bird jumper, it could make a really sweet d.i.y! I like how you've used sequins within the clothes but haven't made it sequin overload! A little bit of subtle sparkle can be charming. I've even opted for my glittery barry m polish today!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your wrapping, I'm gonna get a move on soon after my cuppa! xx
The pumpkin carriage necklace is lovely! xx
ReplyDeleteMe too (:
