Bit of a cheat post if I must admit it myself! I posted this Look as part of my final Uni blog entry on Ways to Wear Daily last week, and have put my assignment together ready for Friday's deadline. I'm considering continuing that blog as a spin-off from Daisybutter, but we shall see how much time I have to devote to it, I might enlist a co-writer for it if anyone's interested in compiling outfits and writing a few words to go with it.

daisybutter - UK Style Blog: ways to wear, party season, christmas, sequinned skirt

After the bloggers' meet on Saturday, I realised I have an unhealthy obsession with sequin skirts. I'm absolutely determined to get my hands on one, or failing that, I'll just plump for something equally as borderline distasteful! This is how I'd style a sequin skirt for a pretty obvious day of the party season: Christmas Day itself! I usually just lounge around in festive pyjamas and some semblance of ridiculous, Christmas themed headwear, but if I were to break the habit of a lazy lifetime, I'd be donning an open or off shoulder knit number from my beloved Topshop, a sequinned skirt and adorable Little Fille two-way headband. Little Fille can do no wrong in my eyes, I just need to brave it and invest in a headband, don't I? Someone enable me for the January sales! What are you planning to wear on Christmas Day?

PS. I'll pop Part Two of this post up over the weekend. Today I'm a little preoccupied with wittering on about the construction and influence of taste, with reference to Vogue and online media!

  2. I always think that sequins look the best if they're dark metallic shades rather than bright pink. That's why I quite like the skirt you've posted, I saw a dress a while ago that was similar and that also caught my eye. And as for Christmas day, I think I'll also be lounging around in pyjamas whilst I sit back with the family and enjoy an old Christmas film.

  3. They're beautiful, aren't they? Probably unsuitable for X'mas Day if you're planning on leaving the house, but I just had to include them! xx

  6. Oooo :) I will have a look on there! And me too, I really need to save. Usually when I buy a 'going-out' dress I only wear it once because I don't like being repetitive haha

  7. I'm not too sure how I feel about sequins but I do like the headband, and the jumper! I'm sure the skirt would look lovely, I just don't think I could bring myself to wear one...maybe one day, since you've styled it so nicely! x

  11. I love the sequin skirt and the shoes!
On Christmas Day I tend to dress up quite smart, I don't know why as I only see my family but they all dress smart too. I'm not sure what I'll be wearing this year. Maybe a nice dress if I can find one! x

  12. This sequined skirt needs to appear in my wardrobe for this christmas, yes it's a bit spangletastic but totally necessary for December.
Saying that this Christmas is going to be spent at my boyfriends dads and he's a bit of a scrooge with the heating so it'll probably be a onesie for me

    xx

  19. I would love to have a sequin or beaded skirt too and have had my eye on an Allsaints number. Thinking it would look so cool with a chunky knit...but never end up getting it as I don't know if I would ever get the confidence to leave the house in it...probably should really work on that.
