Finishing off the year with an all-black outfit in true Michelle style. Don't fret: 'Embrace the Spring/Summer season properly' is on my list of goals for 2012! I also broke my no sales rule yesterday, a whole three days after declaring war on my wardrobe. My bad. These jeans (double shock) were too good to resist.

(Scallop-edged top, River Island;

Corduroy leggings/jeans, River Island;
Faux YSL Arty ring, Dolly Bow Bow;
Pumpkin carriage necklace, c/o Ever Ours.)

I wore this last night for a catch-up over some drinks with some of my best friends, despite feeling a little overexposed and plain. As I mentioned on Twitter, I picked these up in the River Island sale, and they're corduroy leggings. They're a little thicker than standard leggings, and are seriously comfy and soft, so I refuse to whack that dreaded 'jegging' label on them! The only clothing item I can compare them to is my vintage Chanel jeans. Paired it with my double-layered scallop edged top, which is probably a little passe now (it was a SS11 trend!) but it's the loveliest little piece, and feels really 'me'. Last night I wore this with a little faux fur and some black peeptoe platform heels.

By the way, I don't think I've mentioned it yet, but I'm now an Ever Ours ambassador! I came across Ever Ours back in October or so, and ordered a shirt and a tunic which are on my list of favourite ever clothing items, so I was seriously flattered when Kim asked me to become an ambassador. This pumpkin carriage necklace was featured in one of my Ways to Wear posts, and is absolutely perfect. It opens up with a magnetic clasp, and feels heavy enough to look expensive.

Today I'll be spending my day cleaning out my bedroom and finally finding new homes for the presents I received at Christmas. I've included a bonus snap of the Chanel Lipstick in Aventure that my little sister gifted me! I can't quite believe how many things I've accumulated in the two weeks that I've been home! Best to ring in 2012 with a clean slate and a clear mind, right? Also, nominations for the Marie Claire Blog Awards close tomorrow, so don't forget to go over and nominate your favourite bloggers. I'll be back tomorrow with a years' round-up blog post ♥

    SS11 or not, I still think your ensemble is lovely. Sometimes I think it's better and bolder to wear things that suit you, even when they're trends slightly passed, wearing things that work for you and that you feel comfrotable in is important.

    Happy New Year 2012 Michelle, can't wait to see what you do in the coming 12 months, and I know your hard work will pay off as you near the end of your degree.

  19. My Chanel lipstick is my favourite lippy EVER, the shades are so flattering and they go on so smoothly. Shame about the price tag though!
    Love the ... jeggings (sorry had to say it haha) they do look very comfy. I have managed to shy away from the clothing sales this year, don't fancy rummaging and there's not much left online xx
