Favourite outfit of the Winter so far · Indulged in my first Starbucks Christmas coffee of the season · Our mini homemade Tapas meal! · Rereading 'Adorned in Dreams' in the dead of night for the 814597th time since starting my course · I received a beautiful Look Beauty package in the post: can't wait until it comes out in store so I can hear what everyone else's thoughts are! · The sky looks particularly pretty on Wednesday evening · An egg and bacon toasted sandwich · Reading about blog theory... · Archie being his usual mischieveous self and napping under my throw · The sky again · Candlelight and X Factor last night.

Afternoon lovelies! Another week gone, another week spent holed up in my room with theorists, art historians and several thousands of words for company. I'm well and truly in festive mode now: I indulged in my first Toffee Nut Latte of the season, on the way home from the library earlier in the week, which kick-started the festivities, began the dreaded Christmas shopping, and I painted my nails with some glittery tips! The girls and I are cooking our first household, homemade Roast today too, which always makes me feel festive: coming from a Chinese family, Roasts just aren't our thing!

I've been pulling daily (...nightly?) all-nighters for the past week as well, in a bid for some productivity. Am I the only one who can only work well in the twilight hours? My record this week was a casual 6am! Also, speaking of Twilight, I've still not got round to seeing Breaking Dawn, I'm putting it off because I do genuinely like the films and books to an extent - not Twi-hard style, I just think they're entertaining! - but I'm hearing blogger critiques of the 'horrificly explicit' variety? Shudder. I've also been spending my weekend relaxing in the dark, by candlelight, being Archie's plaything of choice.

What have you been up to this week? How is everyone's Christmas shopping coming along? I'm only stuck on final gifts for my brother and sister, which is pretty good going for me!

- this week in five:
  • #C4A9AB
  • cosy knits, super cosy tights and playsuits
  • foodie goodness
  • university assignment stress
  • the demise of my faithful blackberry curve

  1. I'm still to take that h&m dress for its first outing, but I may wear it for my work christmas do which is in a couple of weeks time! :) It looks lovely on you.
Love a toffee nut latte, yum! Have a lovely roast dinner with the girls tonight, roast dinners are the best! Hope I'm having the same tonight. xx

  5. I'm quite the same, I work much better at night. It's not always the best way if you need to wake up early though. :P Your cat is absolutely adorable. :)

  6. I'm really not looking forward to seeing Breaking Dawn - I'll have to see it with Richard's family, and I always find *those* types of scenes to be really awkward when watching with other people, let alone family! Hahahaha.

  7. Oh I always work way better the later in the day it is... or at least whilst I was doing my undergrad! I used to work from midnight til 6am and then sleep, got a hundred percent more done than when trying to work during the day! Can't do that now though. Nomming at all the food in these images and your little kitty is so cute all snuggled up in the blankets :)

  18. Toffee Nut is my favorite! Depending on the day i have it as a frappuccino or latte. Here in Chile is almost summer but we have like a week with warm weather and the next one with sort of cold weather (but nothing like winter! it was so cold this year!).
Good luck with your uni stuff! I started last week a (very late) second semester after the longest educational strike and it's been pretty hard to catch up.

And I feel ya on all of the university stress! Although I don't have papers upon papers due this year (last year=wayyyy too many!), I have to work on my M.A thesis since the countdown is on... UGH.

PS, I love every single picture you post! I don't know how, but you make everything so interesting :)

  29. That is such a lovely cardie, along with the dress of course! Got my eye on those pretty looking candles too!

I've spent a bit of time on my dissertation today, and it feels good to get productivity going I must say. Go you at 6am! I used to be able to say up that late but ever since working I've got into such a early sleeper mode.

i like your snowflake bedding michelle- very festive! i would definitely agree that night time is prime time for mental output, so much easier to concentrate and get things done! i have yet to read the twilight books.. even though i know i'll enjoy them. i feel like im betraying harry! which is ridiculous but nevertheless, haha. my christmas shopping is non-existent as of yet... worst organisation as per usual! xxx

I know exactly what you mean, I work best when everyone else is asleep, and all nighters are my favorite. I love the sunrise, and once I take a shower, I'm refreshed and awake. I love learning art history, I have that class next semester and I'm so excited for it.
The picture with the black kitten peaking out of the white sheets is lovely.

  39. Thank you lovely! I'm leaning towards that mindset too haha, I don't particularly want to shell out my few remaining pennies for a film that has had tragic reviews :P xx

  40. Thank you! Exactly my point, there are fewer distractions, and I love how peaceful 3am is ;) Oh gosh, I never saw it that way, I'm a mild Twilight fan, but a die-hard Potterhead! It's so lovely to have you back in the blogging world Sian (: xx
