I've never been so pleased to retire to my little room - today was a packed day of University, rushing around town to run errands, and an evening spent in Hepwright's Vintage Store to celebrate their first birthday! It was an unseasonably warm day, quite windy but a little humid? Autumnal layering, you've fooled me again.

(Dress, Next;
Jumper, H&M;
Tights, H&M;
Boots, ASOS;
Jacket, Warehouse.)

As part of the Most Wanted 'Day in a Dress' challenge, I'm wearing a gorgeous occasion dress from Next. The dress itself is absolutely gorgeous: chiffony material with a subtle sweetheart necklace, cinched in at the waist, and then a lovely, floaty skirt with a cut-out pattern. I'm not sure where I would have worn it, but the Hepwright's birthday 'do seemed like an appropriate enough occasion! Wore it with my H&M jumper (still need to show you this in more detail!), tights and my ASOS boots for that borderline casual/evening look.

I felt ridiculously overdressed when leaving the house this morning for lectures, I won't lie. A chiffony, nude coloured dress and heeled boots to go to a lecture in?! Surprisingly, a few of my friends said they loved my dress, and that I'd styled it perfectly for Uni. I really love the contrast between my slubby knit and the papery-light dress though, definitely a look I'd wear again! I'm still sat in my dress as we speak, feeling like a phoney student, but looking fit for a ball.

Also, if any of you are Hampshire, or Southampton particularly, based, I'd really recommend popping into Hepwright's for a browse at their vintage goodies. Even as a self-proclaimed High Street-er, I fell in love with so many of their pieces tonight, the girls have amazing taste and are so friendly.

... And a bonus of me posing in my ballgown!

  4. You definitely don't look overdressed! Then again, I work at Betsey Johnson so wearing poofy 'dressy' dresses is a normal thing for us :p Nonetheless, you look lovely and your dress is so pretty! You really did work it nicely to not make it look like evening attire.

  11. I love how you styled the dress for uni! One of my housemates always manages to style night time dresses for day time perfectly which I'm so jealous of as I don't seem to have the knack! You've inspired me to try though :) xxx

  16. You look gorgeous ! I thought that place was your bedroom and thought Wait ! What :O ?!
    I would not wear a dress to school, 95% of the school is made up of guys, so defo would not want to wear anything that isn't pants in some form ! I don't think that outfit was too dressed up because you managed to dress it down ! Gorgeous :D !

  21. Ah I think you went for the right colour, and I love how you've styled it with the cosy jumper :) As someone who always rolled out of bed underdressed for uni (that sounds wrong, I was clothed!), I used to wish I could make an effort so I wouldn't worry about being overdressed as you look fab!
    I also just swooned a bit at all of the fur, especially the chocolate brown colour.
