Hello! I'm currently typing this with frozen fingers, fresh from my tedious walk home. I've already caved - as you can see - and started wearing the dress I bought last week, but more for a daytime look, which works just as well, if not better. Got a bit of buyer's remorse after remembering that rent and bills are due next week, but oh well, still feeling good!

(Velvet and tulle dress, H&M;

Tights, H&M;
"Aggie" suede boots, ASOS;
Cardigan, Hollister;
Felix Felicis large Potions necklace, Sawyer and Scout;
Bracelet, Dolly Bow Bow;
Dalmatian nail art, DIY as seen here.)

In LOVE with this dress from H&M. Look at it, in all of its' ballerina-esque glory... I'm one of those girls who pretty much wears the same clothes for most occasions, just with a different choice of shoe, darker eye make-up and bag. I've always been all about the accessories, as you well know! Also threw on my dark olive green military style jacket for Uni, purely on the basis that it is November - ahem, nearly Christmas, kind of! - and for some odd reason, my University loves their air-con during these winter months.

I just realised that I haven't spoken about the other side projects I have on the go at the moment, I'm forever mentioning things on Twitter and meaning to talk about them in more depth...! Last week I had the pleasure of spending 15 minutes with Alexandra Shakespeare, the web editor of Harpers' Bazaar. She is very kindly mentoring the final year students of my course, and of course I jumped at the opportunity of chatting to her! It was a really insightful one-to-one, and she's given me some mini tasks to get on with before our next meeting, which means a step further with my Ways to Wear series. SO excited!

Things that have piqued my interest and thoughts this week: a) My parents celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on Sunday (20112011 - an amazing date), little things like those really make me feel quite nostalgic and sentimental! And b) It's Grad Week at my Uni right now - seeing everyone glammed up and gowned is motivating me for my final year, and got me thinking about post-grad prospects, as well as that all-important dress to go under my robe.

Hope everyone is doing well! Has anything caught your interest recently? Maybe you also caught this adorable owl circulating the Internet world, and spent the majority of two days asking your housemate to gift you an owl for Christmas?

  1. I really hate that feeling of loving something so much but knowing that you can't afford it after you've bought it. I can never get rid of stuff like that even when bills are looming.

    Feel better in the fact that it looks great!

  14. Haha a music video :') Totally reminds me of a disastrous Music project I did at secondary school, where we had to film a, and I quote, "typical pop girl band music video". I'll leave the rest to your imagination...! Thank you Sarah, and congrats to yours as well! xx

  15. I really like this dress for daytime! So chic! Also, I just thought I'd let you know that my rent was due yesterday, which means I can spend the rest of my savings in clothes now, right? I have a whole month before having to worry about the rent anyway! Hahahahaha! x

    That dress is gorgeous ! I love how it's soft and sweet it is at the top, but the 'skirt' is pleated, matte, and edgy !
