For me this season, one of the highlights of London Fashion Week was getting to see some fellow bloggers again, and meeting more for the first time. I managed to get off the waitlist and onto the ticketed list for the IFB & Swarovski event, which was pretty much a bloggers' conference, but not as formal as that phrase implies.

Lots of canapes and glasses of champagne were served as ever, set in the beautiful Swarovski Crystal Lounge just behind Oxford Street, and so many bloggers in one place. I met Winnie from Diamond Canopy beforehand so we both wouldn't have to make that awful entrance to an event on our own, and honestly, we have so much in common, it's crazy. Thanks Winnie for being such lovely company!

I had my Dalmatian nails style snapped many times, my outfit a few more times, and had a few photographs taken with the beautiful Vicki (want her glasses and hair so much) and Lily. The IFB talk was honestly one of the highlights of my day, it was great to hear about blogging from the "professional" perspective, and gain some more insight into aspects that are usually kept under wraps within the blogging community.

I was so excited to see Susie from Style Bubble and Shini from Park & Cube talk about their experience in blogging too, as they are two of my all-time favourites. One of the main things discussed was the idea that the opportunities bloggers get from blogging is a privilege and not a right, something I couldn't agree more about. You can read more about the event here, and follow the hashtags on Twitter for what was said on the day.

Spent the rest of the day, on-and-off, in-between shows and clashing schedules, with a plethora of bloggers that I've "followed" for ages, which was so lovely. We were all tired, confused (huge change in the reception of bloggers at LFW this season) and in a bit of a daze; I can't even remember what I wittered on about to various people, I'm sure I embarassed myself on more than one occasion!

Just going to go ahead and say you should be following the likes of Winnie, Lily, Vicki, Jazz, Jen, Gem, Kristabel, Carrie, Lucy, Hayley, Sarah and Amy, they are all bloody lovely to chat to and gossip with (we were at Jen and Vicki's hotel room til 11pm!) and are hilariously funny too. Amy's voice - get well soon! - and Kristabel's impressions are a stand-out for me too! Gem documented some of our get-together in a vlog as well, so be sure to have a watch of that, it makes for an amusing 10 minutes!

  1. This sounds so much fun, how do get invited to events like this? It's something I'd love to be a part of.

  2. That sounds like so much fun! I wish I had gone now...

  3. Sounds like you had such a great time! The event itself sounds really interesting, I had a browse on the website the other day, wish I could've been at the event though. Would be lovely to meet some fellow bloggers, always looks like everyone has such a nice time at meet ups & events x

  4. Those sandwiches look amazing...and now I'm starving!

  5. WOW this looks amazing so fun and the sandwiches look great!

  6. Sounds like a great event, really interesting! x

  7. Sounds like it was a great event! I love meeting bloggers in real life! XX

  8. It looks like you had a great time! And it looks like it was very informative. I love that they put this event on. I think because there is no one body that looks after bloggers it can feel very lonely sometimes and like you are out on a limb, so it is good when fellow bloggers are brought together like this as part of a community.

I went to the London Blogger event a couple of weeks ago but would love to meet other bloggers regularly to throw ideas about.

Anyway, next time there is an event like this I will have to book the day off work and make sure I go!

  9. wish we were there... looks like so much fun!! Will def be checking in to your site for London fashion week updates! Great blog- following you :)

  10. Sounds like you had a blast, I'm glad you did! It would be so cool to meet bloggers you've followed for ages in real life.

  11. I love your outfit. I really wish I could have gone to this, I got off the waitlist at the last minute but by then I'd booked my train for later in the day. :( I hope ifb continue to do London events.
