Yesterday I was invited along to the GlossyBox bloggers' and press day. I'm sure the majority of my readers know what GlossyBox is, but for the beauty enthusiast newcomer, in a nutshell, GlossyBox is a company aiming to reach out to female consumers of the beauty market by delivering luxury beauty samples each month, bridging the gap between brand and customer. Despite not having signed up for my own subscription yet, I definitely think I will be subscribing from October/November onwards, the concept is something I personally love.

Decided to get to London a little earlier to meet the likes of Emma, Lily and Victoria to browse the new Monki boutique in Selfridges. Monki is one of my favourite Swedish clothing brands, I love their minimal, cosy, easywear aesthetic and it is all reasonable priced. Think a happy medium between H&M and Topshop. Wasn't too sold on the pieces on offer in there, but for a boutique that had opened on the very same morning, it was nicely marketed, and I saw a coat, some jumpers, a pair of boots, "that" headband and a clutch that I'll probably buy on Tuesday when I'm back in London.

We went for food and drinks at Vapiano's which was beyond good, I'd highly recommend, before getting lost on the way to Morton's for the event. Lots of drinks, canapes and candles made for a great atmosphere, and I really enjoyed meeting more bloggers and getting to talk to everyone properly. The GlossyBox team are one of the most dedicated and genuine that I have had the pleasure of meeting, and they were so helpful with answering my inane questions. All of the brands are handpicked by the team, to make sure they are what their target (us!) wants. GlossyBox are looking to expand to bring in a gift subscription service (for your friends and family) and possibly even a men's version, which would be less regular than the original GlossyBox.

The venue was cosy and very upmarket, perfect for sitting down for a drink and speaking to everyone, and we got to see all of the previous GlossyBoxes, including the infamous one that divided the beauty blogging community. After a little talk from the marketing manager, we were invited to take an empty Box and fill it with our own selection of products that will be going into the next few months' Boxes - exciting! It was a bit of a manic, beauty pick-and-mix, and it was lovely to see each product and hear why they'd been selected for future use. Reviews to follow on my chosen products if you'd like, and a huge thanks goes to Lily, Zoe, Pia, Skye and the rest of the GlossyBox team for organising such a perfect little event!

  4. I'm so jealous - this sounds like it was an amazing event! I was hesitant to sign up with this, esp after the drama of the 2nd box. But I finally did it a few weeks ago and I can't wait to see what is in the Sept edition. I think this brand suits me more than Boudoir Prive. I cancelled my subscription with B.P. Looking forward to your review, Michelle x

  8. Looks good! I'm not sold on the whole Glossy Box idea, I tend to only buy products when I need them and even then I stick to brands I like!

    P.S I LOVE Vapiano! Mmmmm....

  12. Rachel: It was a really nice event, relaxed and informative, as well as fun to speak to other bloggers over a glass of wine (: GlossyBox have completely won me over, for one. x

Emily: I think I'll be subscribing in October once I'm moved in to my Uni house, just to save problems with delivery. The concept is so great, isn't it? x

Amy: It was! So lovely to meet some more bloggers in person, as well as see friends again!

Sarah: It was possibly the best bloggers' event I've been to yet actually, so well organised and thought out. I really didn't "get" the backlash of the second box, it isn't GlossyBox's fault if people don't enjoy the products, everyone had their own opinion it though, haha! I'm actually test-running a Boudoir Prive box next month, I'm interested to see the difference between them and see the comparisons for myself (:

Saf: I really enjoyed myself actually! Thanks lovely. x

Lauren: I just really liked the packaging, it felt expensive and luxurious in my hand :-P Just had a cheeky sniff and swatch of it and I think I'm in love with it already haha! I'll have the review up next week or over the weekend on my other blog, sweety, been using it all today to pamper my cut lip (: Thank you so much Lauren! x

Eleanor: It was such a nice evening! (:

Sarah: I like quality brands, but never have the chance to try them unless I pinch them from the mother, so the concept of GlossyBox is perfect for me, especially because I'm so underknowledged with brands as it is :-P Vapiano's was so good! x

Emma: These were the only photos I took ): We should have taken some togevz, gonna be a pap/stalker at Vogue's FNO next week k. GOOD TO SEE YOU TOOOO!

Sarah: Such a nice evening, I had a great time thanks Sarah (: Will I be seeing you around at Vogue's FNO next week sweet? x

    Katie: (:

Amy: It was a great event, really amazing team of ladies and it was lovely to meet some more bloggers in real life. I love your blog, by the way, just followed it, no idea how I haven't seen it before sweetie! x
