TGIF readers, eh? This week has felt super long to me, been feeling lethargic and I had an awful lull in inspiration on Wednesday, but I'm back with a very belated Ways to Wear edition for you. I'm sure you've heard me sing the praises of sheer shirts time and time again on my blog, I honestly can't get enough of them, and as a garment that certainly did the rounds in the blogging world a few months ago, I'm sure a few people are at a loss of how to keep them feeling fresh and inspirational.

This week's featured piece is Miss Selfridge's embroidered sheer shirt, as requested by Amber. I say this every week, but you don't have to go out and buy this, you probably have something similar in your wardrobe if you dig deep! Alternatively, there are hundreds of other options in varying styles on the High Street, I saw some lovely ones in New Look, Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and Internacionale today.

Petite girls can get away with all-over patterned looks in the skip of a heartbeat. Gone for something a bit different with Look One, and it looks quite strange on paper but I'd imagine it to look so nice in real life! The striped bodysuit would be perfectly paired down with a nude, sheer shirt on top, leaving something to the imagination but jazzing up the neutral tones. If you aren't too sure about all of that print, I'd recommend a warm pop of burgundy in a vest instead! Tuck the sheer shirt in to the harem trousers, but don't tug too tight, so the silouhette and shape is still loose and easy. Finish with a pair of flats or sandals, and a chunky gold bracelet or other arm candy.

Look Two is a girly look with heavy black accents. I'd imagine it to be finished with flushed dusty pink cheeks and a bold statement lip, perhaps classic red, a deep plum or bright pink with orange undertones. The little flippy skirt is something I can't get enough of: the skater, flared shape is super flattering on pretty much any body shape. You can always add a belt for added shape! I adore this Marc B bag, it's from their new range and has a detachable strap, deeming it perfect for those nights out where you're not sure if you'll always remember to take your bag with you. Finally, the wedge boots darken the look, and finish the look with a messy, sideswept ponytail, at the nape of your neck, secured with this chiffon bow. Tights are optional!

My final look is my favourite, I think, and something that I'll be likely to wear in A/W. I chose a simple black playsuit to go underneath it all, which I'm sure everyone has already. The sheer shirt can then be worn on top (the featured shirt is long line so it'll cover your bum!) and unbuttoned, with the collar peeping out of the jumper. I also found this clutch which is ridiculously perfect, been looking for an envelope clutch for ages, and this one also comes in black. Add these black wedge boots with a sweet buckle detail and you're good to go!

Hope you've enjoyed reading this week's installment! I'm trying to keep these a bit less wordy so the focus is on the looks, but written direction is always good too, right? Let me know what your favourite Look is as always, and enjoy the weekend!

  8. I think the last one is my fave as well - love the idea of a long shirt worn as a dress. I've found the best places to find sheer ones is charity shops actually - lots of unwanted sheer blouses there! And, as always m'dear, I love the wordy bits 2bh - really helps get a feel for what you're putting together...it's all in the detail! x

  10. The shirt is lovely, the detailing is so pretty. I'm drawn to looks 2 & 3 but I think look 2 wins it for me because of that skirt! A sheer shirt with jeans and brogues has become my go-to outfit over the last month x

  11. Excellent post! I love sheer shirts and have a fair few lurking in my wardrobe. You've definitely inspired me to dig them out and try something new. I think look two is my favourite. The chiffon bow is too cute! Am I the only one who wears pretty hair bobbles on my wrist? lol.

Great ways to wear as always.
